"for the last time, you are not taking me to a goddamned circus."

"hyung, please!"

"no. absolutely not."

jeongguk had been trying to convince yoongi to join him and seokjin and maybe namjoon in going to the circus act that was coming to seoul, but yoongi was being persistent.

"you literally never do anything, you're always holed up in that stuffy office!" jeongguk whined and pouted, crossing his arms. yoongi sighed.

yoongi was the ceo of his father's company, min co., and his schedule was always packed. he had mountains of paperwork he had to complete every night, and he rarely had time for anything. he was used to being secluded and tired, it was his life. and he was perfectly fine with it. he had coffee, and his happiness. he was fine. he led an incredibly simplistic life, he never did anything adventurous or unpredictable, and he liked it that way. he didn't have to worry about risks or consequences. he hadn't even dated in a year and a half.

"jin hyung said you just need to get laid." jeongguk mumbled, inspecting his nails like he didn't just insinuate that yoongi had blue balls.

yoongi sputtered and flailed his arms, face burning up. "and you believed him?!" jeongguk, the brat, just giggled and shook his head.

"honestly, yeah. you haven't gone out in ages! we miss you." jeongguk looked a little dejected at the end of his sentence, smile faltering.

yoongi let out a puff of breath and looked at the cold hardwood floor. yoongi sighed heavily and rubbed his eyes. jeongguk wasn't lying. yoongi doesn't remember the last time he went out for fun with his friends. he faintly recalls his birthday, which consisted of completing a huge project at 4:00 am, ignoring the imploring texts and calls his friends were sending him, asking him where he was. that night he agreed to go for drinks and celebrate, but he never showed up.

"and what even happened to your dream hyung? you've changed so much, we need you back." jeongguk added further, gesturing his hands to himself and yoongi's apartment, that was flooded with company papers, empty coffee mugs, and dirty dishes.

dream. what a funny word.

yoongi always liked to think he would go to college and study music and arts with all his friends, build a small company with namjoon, and work happily as a rapper and producer. but that hope was crushed when yoongi's older brother died unexpectedly, leaving their family company in yoongi's hands. it wasn't what he wanted, it never was, but he learned to accept it. and that's how its always been.

jeongguk, the bright kid, always had things going for him. at a young age jeongguk started taking dance lessons, and joined in several competitions. and won. he also sold art pieces in high school and college to earn money, because, you guessed it, he was an exceptional artist. jeongguk also occasionally made songs with namjoon because jesus that boy could sing. he had made several singles by himself. he also had a side job as a photographer/model. his job as of right now was a professional dancer, had choreographed several songs, and ran his own dance lessons. young and talented. yoongi was always envious of him, but who wouldn't be?

"i don't know gguk..." yoongi broke out of his depressing thoughts and ran a comforting hand up and down his arm.

"you know that if i can't convince you jin hyung will scream and drag you out of here here himself." jeongguk said defensively, and yoongi couldn't find himself to disagree. he shuddered at the thought of an angry seokjin yelling at him. nope.

"i just have so much wor-"

"i swear to god if you complain about your work one more time i'm going to throw you out of the window. and your work is the reason for this anyway!" jeongguk cut him off with a warning glare, and yoongi gulped. he wasn't kidding. that kid bench pressed twice what yoongi weighed, he could send him sailing to america if he wanted.

yoongi glanced at his desk, where stacks of paper sat, basically burning a hole in the expensive wood. he licked his dry lips and looked remorsefully at his young friend again.

"fine."

that one word single-handedly brought a wave of joy to crash on jeongguk, and his eyes basically gleamed. an adorable bunny grin appeared in full force, and jeongguk squealed happily. he jumped up and down a couple times, clapping and laughing.

"okay, don't piss your pants, it's just this one time." yoongi breathed, leaning back in his chair.

"agh! finally! this will be so much fun."

yoongi already started regretting his decision.

"when is it anyway?" yoongi questioned, running a hand through his mundane raven hair.

"tomorrow night. and you better be ready, because we're picking you up at six o'clock sharp."

oh god.
