jeongguk uncomfortably sat in between taehyung, jimin, and chaerin, blushing madly as jimin rested a hand on his thigh.

"careful jimin, you don't even know if he's into guys." imogene said from across the campfire, hoseok beside her.

"i'm straight!" jeongguk squeaked and taehyung held in a laugh.

"sure you are sweetie." taehyung whispered to himself, and jimin snickered.

"why did you join the circus?" jeongguk asked taehyung, trying to direct the conversation elsewhere so his face could cool down.

"it's kind of a long story." taehyung said, and jeongguk just stared at him, gesturing for him to keep going. taehyung smiled. "i was an orphan, and homeless, and i didn't have any money, i slept in the streets and begged for scraps. one day, a huge carriage came into town and people were saying how a priceless piece of art was inside. having being kept on the streets for so long, i learned how to steal without getting caught." taehyung sighed and picked dirt off of his nails. "so i stole the art." jeongguk gasped and taehyung smirked.

"he stole piece of art, how is that impressive?" imogene yawned and taehyung angrily turned to her.

"it was going to the national museum!" taehyung defended and jeongguk giggled as imogene mocked him.

"what about you?" jeongguk turned to jimin, who sighed and rubbed his arm.

"my parents were dicks. they found me kissing a guy and kicked me out of their home, threatning that if i ever returned they would kill me for beig such a disgrace. they thought it was  mercy to have at least given me a chance on the streets." jimin laughed, but there was no humor. "unlike taehyung, i was small and weak, and i didn't know how to survive. i was barely alive when hoseok found me and nursed me back to health, and i've been here ever since. hoseok said i could repay him by joining the circus, and i wouldn't have it any other way. this is my real home." hoseok smiled at jimin, who smiled and winked back at him.

"how old were you?" jeongguk's eyes were wide with curiosity, and jimin resisted the urge to squeeze his pouty cheeks.

"seventeen."

jeongguk gasped and suddenly threw his arms around jimin's shoulders. jimin was stunned for a second before smiling and wrapping his arms around jeongguk's waist, resting his chin atop jeongguk's fluffy hair.

"i'm so sorry, sexuality shouldn't matter. you are who you are." jeongguk muttered into jimin's shoulder. although it was muffled, everybody smiled upon hearing it.

taehyung smirked again.

"yeah, totally straight."

.

yoongi sat against a large tree, eating a handful of snacks with you that you stole. jimin was going to be angry, but you couldn't find it in yourself to care.

"this really is your family huh?" yoongi mumbled through a mouthful of shrimp crisps, and you smiled and nodded.

"yeah."

"i wish i had a family like this." yoongi smiled softly, but the grin held pain. "i guess i kind of do, with namjoon and seokjin and gguk, but i always push them away. i don't think they'd consider me their family." you frowned upon hearing his confession.

"why did you push them away then?"

yoongi sighed. "when i was twelve my mother died. it changed my father, and he was never the same. he turned cold and unfeeling. my brother always protected me," yoongi smiled sadly and his eyes glistened. "i guess that's why he pushed me out of the way when a car would've ran me over." his eyes glistened. hesitantly, you placed a hand on top of his. he intertwined your fingers. "my brother didn't survive the crash. the bastard that hit him got three years in jail, and my 'family' was never the same. you see, my father was the ceo of his own company, and my brother was going to take it over when my dad couldn't run it anymore, but since he was gone..." a tear fell and yoongi scrubbed at his face. he always hated crying. "my dad got a lot harsher when my brother died. he never hit me, but yelling became a regular thing. he thought i was the reason my brother died. i never wanted to take over the company, i had dreams, but i had to."

"yoongi, it is in no way your fault what happened to your brother. he was the one who decided to push you out of the way."

"but it is! if i hadn't been standing in the middle of the road in the first place...anyway. my whole life i was forced not to feel, to crush those dreams i had in high school. but i hate this job, y/n, i want nothing more than to quit and work with namjoon. i'm drowning in my own life, i don't know how to swim."

"i'll help you swim min yoongi, i'll help you stay afloat."
