yoongi and jeongguk flinch and turn around towards the other slit in the tent, the one that should lead to backstage. yoongi and jeongguk look at each other in confuson before a blur of colors come sprinting into the tent. the figures stopped right in front of yoongi, (jeongguk was hiding behind him) and actually revealed themselves to be you and jimin.

"yoongi!" you exclaim, cheeks red from running from jimin.

"yOoNgi!" jimin mocks you and you shove him, to which he shoves you back. you would have kept fighting if yoongi didn't laugh at your antics. you straightened up and tried to calm the capillaries in your face, clearing your throat in annoyance as jimin giggles behind you.

"what, what are you doing here so early? the show doesn't start until 2:30." you ask and tilt your head, which yoongi secretly finds adorable. yoongi is about to answer but jeongguk punches his arm from beside him.

"hyung! you said 1:30!" jeongguk whines, lips in a pout. yoongi is once again about to retaliate but he's cut off for the second time.

"hey jeongguk, didn't know you'd be here." jimin greets, voice charmingly sweet.

"jimin, stop flirting." you scold him and jimin looks offended.

"you're the one who said, and i quote, go flirt the fuck out of his friends instead." jimin recites in a high pitched voice that's supposed to be yours, and your blush spreads to your neck.

"who's friends?" yoongi asks, confused by the whole situation. "what do you mean by 'instead'?"

"yours." jimin casually says, and you shove him again. once he regains balance he speaks again. "i was going to make a move on you but she possessively insisted on keeping you to herself." jimin hissed at you, and your mouth gaped in disbelief.

"i am not possessive, and i was not trying to keep him to myself!" you defended, and yoongi burst out into laughter in front of you. the three of you look at him until he stopped.

"i'm-i'm sorry." yoongi chuckled with a smirk, then looked at jimin. "you thought i was gay?" he laughed again and you found yourself giggling with him. jimin sputtered for words before storming out of the tent in embarrassment, huffing. jeongguk took one look at you and yoongi and sprinted off after jimin. once you and yoongi regained your breath you stopped and looked at each other.

"sorry for being so early." yoongi said, and you shook your head with a small smile.

"don't be, i like having you around." the words slipped out before you could stop them and you froze. after a couple seconds you coughed and looked away, and yoongi chuckled again.

"i like being around you too." yoongi says after a little, and you smile brightly at him. why is your heart pounding?

"uh- well- can i show you something?" you stutter and jab your thumb to the backstage entrance, and yoongi makes a confused face before slowly nodding.

you take yoongi's hand in yours, immediately blushing darker at the contact. his rings and bracelets feel cool against your hot skin, and damn this man moisturizes because his hands are smooth. you pull the man into backstage, ignoring the whistles that wonsoo and chan direct at you. you tug yoongi through all of the pre-performance messes, and lead him back outside.

you look around until you find your personal tent, then head towards that. once you are both tucked inside you sit on your foldable mattress and let yoongi look around. it's not much of a space, just a temporary little thing. there is a small rack of clothes in one corner, a dim lamp next to your poor excuse for a bed, and a towel/washcloth for bathing.

"you live in this?" yoongi asks, and you smile shyly.

"kinda, we're always traveling so we don't need much luxuries when we do stay in one spot." you explain, and yoongi slowly nods, expecting the limited and worn clothes you have.

"how do you travel?" yoongi sits beside you on the mattress, and you avoid eye contact by playing with your hands in your lap, flustered by the close proximity.

"we usually sneak on or ask to ride a train and then get off when we arrive, or if it's not too far we'll hitchhike or walk." you get a little more comfortable, and giggle lightly when yoongi looks at you weirdly. "what?" you ask.

"nothing i just- i guess i never knew. do you like living like this?" yoongi wonders, and you smile at him.

"how could you know? it's not your fault. it might seem like a tough life, and it is, at some points, but it has its benefits too. we're a family, i've known the circus since i was sixteen. i wouldn't trade it for anything."

you look up and find yoongi staring at you, a soft look in his usually cold eyes. they gleam with an emotion you can't quite decipher, and you part your lips softly as his burnt amber eyes flit to them. the soft moment is ruined when the door to the tent flings open.
