10 months later..

"Connor!" I called from the bathroom.

No answer.

"umma" Keris babbled.

I leant down to pick her up.

"Right let's go and get you dressed."

As I put her on her changing table my phone rang.

"Hello?" I said whilst pulling her top on.

"Ruby I'm in line at Starbucks."

"I was wondering where you were Connor. At least tell me."

"I'm sorry. Any way im going to the studio today."

"Con.." I whined.

"umma ock!" Keris squealed holding her sock.

"Yes well done. That's a sock." I say putting it on her foot. "I'm expecting mina round in a bit anyway."

"Ok have fun I've gotta go."

"Love you."

"Love you too see you tonight bye."

I picked Keris up and carried her downstairs.

"Ruby?" I heard Mina say.

"In the living room!" I call back.

Mina walked in with her hand on her 6 month bump. I got up and hugged her.

"Ina!" Keris got up and ran over to her.

"Hi Keris! How are you?"

Keris nodded and climbed onto mina's lap.

"So have you though any further into the wedding?" She asked.

"No not yet." I sighed.

"What have you planned?"

"I've sorted out the date and the venue."

"Where will it be held?"

"At the church where I used to live. I think it will be sentimental."

"Yeah I suppose."

"I'm dreading Keris's first birthday though."

"Why?"

"Because my baby will be a year old!" I laughed. "It doesn't seem right."

"What can you do though?" She laughed.

"Nothing. Nothing at all."

"I'm dreading this one!" She said pointing at her stomach.

"Its alright I guess. Worth it at least."

"I hope I don't have it on your bathroom floor!"

"I'm sorry about that. I tell you all the time!"

"On a serious note. What happened with Tris and Esmay?" She asked.

"Oh they haven't broken up. Yet."

"What do you mean. 'yet'?"

"Tris told me him and her keep fighting."

"Well look at you and Con. You two always fight."

"No, we argue. There's a difference."

"only a small one though."

"Umma."

"Yes baby?"

"Adyy."

"What? You want to see daddy?"

She nodded and ran off into the playroom.

"She misses him. He's always away working or at the studio so when he comes home he's tired and wants to go straight to bed."

"Yeah it's hard." Mina sighed.

"I want another one though."

She looked at me shocked.

"you've just had one!" She laughed.

"You'll understand when that one gets older." I said pointing at her belly. "Besides, me and Con have spoken about it and we're gonna wait until she is at least 2."

"I suppose that is the way to do it."

"Why don't you go find Keris and I'll phone connor and see if he can have her for the day."

"Ok." She said.

I dialled his number and within 4 rings he picked up.

"Ruby is everything ok?"

"yes. Can you come and pick Keris up?"

"Yeah. What's wrong?"

"Nothing. She misses you is all."

"I'll be over in a sec. love you."

"Love you." I said and hung up.

I walked across the hall and into the play room.

"Keris daddy's coming to pick you up!"

She started doing this weird dance which included all her arms and legs flailing everywhere.

I picked her up and took her to the front door. She pointed at her boots so I reached over and got them. As I was putting them on her, the door opened and Connor came in. I stood up and picked her up.

"Right. She's had breakfast so in about 2 hours give her some food. Only give her water. NO energy drinks like last time!" I passed her over and pushed them out the door.

"Shall we go out?" I asked.

"Mina opened the door. "let's go!"
