"Are they coming?" Maggie asked for the gazillionth time.
"Jake hasn't responded," Eva said. "I'll let you know when he does."
"They may not come," Amie pointed out. "We pranked them good."
"They're coming over," Eva said, glancing down at her phone.
Anyway, the boys come over and they sit around and it's awkward. I didn't come here for this, guys. A little more action would be preferable.
"Does everyone know how to play truth or dare?" Amie eventually asked.
"I think the entire world knows how to play truth or dare," Caleb pointed out. "What about truth, dare, kiss, or swear?"
"What's that?" Maggie asked.
"It's exactly like truth or dare, but with two new options," Caleb explained. "Kiss is self explanatory, and you can't use kiss as a dare. Swear is where you have to swear to do or not do something for the rest of the round or game."
"I mean, I'm good with that," Eva said.
"Okay," Chris said. "Who wants to start?"
"I will," Amie said. "Eva, truth, dare, kiss or swear?"
"Swear," she said.
"You cannot pick swear for the next five rounds." Amie smiled.
"Fine, whatever," Eva said. "Chris, truth, dare, kiss or swear?"
"Dare," Chris said. "Do your worst."
...Don't say that, Chris. Eva can be brutal. Obviously Amie and Maggie know that because they start laughing.
"What?" Chris asked.
"Never say 'do your worst' to Eva," Maggie managed to get out. "She will make you regret it."
"It's not that bad," Eva argued. "You're a superhero. Your superhero powers will be based on whatever object Amie hands you. Then, you must tell everyone how awesome your power is."
"What?" Chris asked. "Usually our dares are 'scream out the window' or 'do a headstand against the wall until your next turn.' This is just cruel and unusual punishment."
"What'll it be, Amie?" Eva asked, completely ignoring Chris.
Amie looked around, then left the room. Bye.
"Where'd she go?" Jake asked.
"Don't worry," Eva said. "She'll be back."
A tissue box hurled itself from the doorway towards the middle of the group.
"What the heck?" Jake cried.
Amie laughed, taking her seat next to Chris and placing the box in his hands.
"Go," she said.
"Wow, guys," he said. "You are not going to believe my new powers. With this tissue box, I can tell when anyone in a mile sneezes and I will teleport there to capture their sneeze.
Eventually, I will rid the world of sneezes!"
"Inspirational," Caleb said, wiping away a fake tear.
I like this kid.
"Amie, truth, dare, kiss or swear?" Chris asked.
"Truth," she said.
Caleb poked him in the ribs, attempting to be discreet. What is it, Caleb?
"Do you know who created Starry Night?" Chris asked.
"No," she answered. "I wish I did, though. Maggie, your turn."
"Umm..." Maggie said, blushing. "Dare."
"Draw a heart on Jake's arm in sharpie," Amie said and Eva tossed her a marker.
Why do you just casually have a sharpie marker in your pocket? That's my question.
"Caleb, truth, dare, kiss, or swear?" Maggie asked.
"Truth," he said.
"Have you ever liked anyone in this room," she asked.
"Yeah," he said. "Jake, you're up."
"Swear," Jake answered.
"You are not allowed to pick one of the boys for truth, dare, kiss, or swear," Caleb said.
"Alright," Jake said. "Eva, truth, dare, kiss, or swear?"
"Truth," Eva answered.
"Have you ever lost a group assignment and tried to cover it up?"
"And succeeded," Eva said. "I forgot to name the paper so it was just with the Untitled documents."
"That happened to me," Chris said. "Only it's not in the Untitled documents section. I kind of lost the science calculations and all the data we had gathered on that project."
"What?" Eva asked. "That was half our science grade for this semester!"
Chris smiled.
"That's not nice," Eva said.
"I think the fact that I had to clean my ceiling justifies that lie," he said. "Your face was priceless."
"Chris, truth, dare, kiss, or swear?" she said.
"Oh, no," he said. "Um...I hate to say kiss is the least scary option at the moment."
"Caleb."
"What?" Chris asked.
"Kiss Caleb," she said. "I mean, you can kiss the top of his head if you don't want to kiss him full on."
"Can I change my option?" Chris asked.
"Nope."
Chris kissed the top of Caleb's head and glared at Eva.
"You are dead," he said. "Truth, dare, kiss, or swear?"
"Dare," she said, confidently.
"Seven minutes in the closet with...Jake," he said.
