IN ALARIC'S OFFICE, Damon poured some booze from a flask into a coffee mug as Stefan stared at him and Echo with a glare. He was unimpressed with the plan to get the Ascendant from Jo.

Stefan had his arms crossed over his chest while he paced the floor in front of his brother. "You realize he is gonna kill you when he finds out what you did to him."

Echo agreed with him, but wasn't going to say it out loud. She didn't want to help grow his already enlarged ego.

Damon looked up at him with narrowed icy blue eyes. "My relationship to ruin, thank you," he mused in aggravation. "I didn't complain when you ruined all of yours when you screwed up multiple times."

"Burn," Echo said with a smirk toward Stefan who was glowering.

Stefan rolled his leafy green eyes at them and growled through gritted teeth, "I didn't ruin my—"

Damon interuptted him by shrugging. "You did. And you continue to ruin them by all of your stupid actions. I mean, killing your girlfriend just so she wouldn't be compelled to not know you? Evil. I don't ever recall doing anything as drastic as that... and I did a lot of drastic things."

"Not only was it drastic, but also pathetic," Echo piped in.

Stefan happened to look a little guilty at that, but then he glared at them. He snatched the mug from Damon's hands and glared at him in pure aggravation. "You done?"

"Careful, Stefan. I know it may seem easy to be the big bad Salvatore, but soon, you'll find yourself lying in the middle of the road, pouring your heart out to a stranger, having an existential crisis," Damon lectured him with an experienced expression on his face causing Echo to snort.

"Yeah, great," the The Ripper answered sarcastically then changed the subject, "So, uh, when's this grand theft gonna happen?"

"Assuming everything went well, it's already happened, which means..." Damon trailed off while waiting expectantly and not too long later, the door opened.

Alaric entered the room with a guilty look on his face and handed him the Ascendant. "Here it is."

Damon stood up from his seat with a wide, accomplished grin. "Thanks, buddy." He then handed the human male a tray with coffee and a bag containing breakfast food. "There you go," he mused before compelling his best friend. "Go home to Jo, be a good boyfriend, forget this ever happened."

Ric nodded and walked out of the room as though nothing had happened.

LATER ON, ECHO Damon were walking through the cemetery in the woods to meet up with Liv in order to rescue Bonnie from the 1994 Gemini prison world.
