Nick grabs the football nets in his arms walking in front into the locker rooms as I grab the teams color vest from our practice runs from Couch Nick on the field. Nick pulls Peter aside what looks like a couches inspiring talks and gives me a proud wink that I've step up in my role in Captain. "Drake is no problems to us, I sorted that out with him" Max takes the net off my hands and throws it into the cage near the entrance of the boys locker room. I wondered why I haven't seen him around; I guess a word or too from Max helped the situation that I'd hoped for. Maybe this is a way of making us believe we have control and his planning something big.
"Well, that's good" Unlocking my locker and taking out fresh clean clothes ready for the showers. My phone starts buzzing in my locker I answer it.
"Hello"
"Hello My Names Ash, I'm from the Justice Right Courts, I am calling in regards to your Father, we couldn't get into contact with him or your mother and we are quite concerned about that, you do live with them right?" The persons voice on the phone was very deep.
"Actually I don't, I moved out a couple weeks ago" I hear a few papers shuffling.
"When was the last you spoke to them?"
"I saw my Father two nights ago, they might of went on a road trip, phones do go out of service out there, whats the reason for the call?" I knew father would skip out of town if anyone did call these types of people but to bring mother along that idea scared me.
There was a slight pause on the phone. "An anonymous caller called to complain about loud disputes, the next day police came by due to the property been vandalized, do you know anything that might of happened?" Who called these people, their next door neighbors? The new Gardener? I knew Rose wouldn't do it.
"No sorry" my voice sounded deep then normal as the phone line gets cut off by ruffling in the background as my service bar is low; I hang up putting things into my backpack.
I dial Rose's number in and wait for her to pick up, it dials three times before it goes to voicemail.
I catch white towel just in time that Max throw at me. I dial in Fathers number in; he answers it straight away.
"Hello Son" his voice is low and deep.
"Where is Mother?" I take a sit onto the bench as Max head into the shower area.
"She safe with me, we had a fight but we are okay, ho" I cut him off. "Put mother on the phone now or" He cuts me off this time.
"Or what call the justice courts on us?"
"I didn't do that, wheres mother?"
"William.." I hear her faint voice in the background.
"Your a sick fuck!" My voice sounds firm as my body feels against the wooden bench. I feel my feet working muscles as they pulse up slightly and my thangs pierce through my gums.
"Your jumping into conclusions, your mother just woke up from a nap" I knew that was a lie, Mother can never nap during the day; she always doing things she once complained I nap to much that it was considered sleeping and that it had to be stopped.
"Your lieing, she never takes naps, that doesn't make any sense your a sick bastard!" I was going to say more but the phone line hangs up. I throw my phone harshly on the floor on top of my back pack. Peter walks in giving me a small smile as he walks to his locker. "You alright mate?" I nod my head. "Tell Max we need to meet with the whole pack after school, I'll explain then" I storm out of the room as Peter follows harshly dodging things in the hallway I'm throwing behind me. "Wait, Where are you going?" His voice is echoing through the halls. "I need to get out" I slow my pace but I don't dare stop. I need to save mother and discard of Father even though mother wont like it. Max is good at making things disappear and his good at making people forget things. That's one of his super power gifts. I hope his willing to give today. The bell rings as the doors open at once and the hallway becomes busy.
