"Welcome back to another year at Hogwarts." Professor Dumbledore started his welcoming speech.
It was almost the same every year. Welcome, don't go into the forbidden forest, studying pays off, blah, blah, blah. Most students didnt listen after they heard it for the second time, but it seemed rude not to listen to Proffessor Dumbeldor. He put time into welcoming us every year. Maybe it was just a Hufflepuff thing.
"First, second and third years must return to their dorms after dinner, but all older students may stay up till 11 tonight." He finished.
I looked through all the people sitting at the other tables trying desperately to find Luke. When you first walked in the Great Hall Hufflepuff's table was at the far left then Slythrin, Ravenclaw and finally Gryffindor.
As I was searching for Lukes all too familiar face, I was disturbed by Finn giving me a slight wave. He probably thought I was looking for him.
After the feast Troye and I decided to make our way to the Hufflepuff common room. Cherry was off fooling around with some 6th year. She had her way with boys.
She was really pretty, she has long dark brown hair and tan skin. Her eyes were forest green and she had the prettiest smile. She had an outgoing personality but she wasn't the smartest girl.
Troye had dark dirty blonde hair and crystal brown eyes. He was a batter on the quidditch team. He was tall, but not as tall as Luke. He was nice an friendly and didn't seem to care too much about girls. I sometimes thought he was gay, but I never asked him about it, he would tell me if he wanted to.
I have blonde hair and pale skin and the most boring blue eyes you will ever see. If I'm being honest, I'm a little flirt, but not as big as Cherry. I'm not the prettiest person but I'm not ugliest either. I'm just kinda average. Like a everyday person.
"Oh wait I left my book in the Great Hall." I quickly remembered. "I'll see you in the common, okay?" I asked him. he quickly nodded and continued with the some other Hufflepuff students.
There were still a couple of students in the great hall, still eating. They were probably the kids who didn't come from very wealthy families and needed to be fed up.
I went over and grabbed my book. I was reading A Tree Grows In Brooklyn by Betty Smith. It was a muggle novel about a young girl in the early 1900s, in Brooklyn. It fascinated me. I had never really interacted with a muggle, the only time I see them is at kings cross when we're going to Hogwarts Express.Mom and daddy didn't let me read muggle books. Saying it was bad for me. Mom wasn't as against muggles as daddy.
"Well, well. Puberty dose miracles." I heard an all too familiar voice from behind me.
"Get lost Hood." I said, not in the mood to put up a fight.
Calum was my brothers best friend. We hated each other. Ever since year two when he found out I had a crush on Luke he used it to black mail me with.
"Hey Cass, if you're feeling down, I can feel you up." I could hear the smirk in his tone.
"*Langlock!" I pointed my wand to wards him.
// *langlock: the spell to get ones tough stuck to the top of ones mouth aka to shut someone the fudge up.
