When Rider finally gets to the hospital Jason it's sitting up and eating. To my surprise it wasn't a dream that he's awake. But when I realize that, Rider is already hugging him. After the long awkward man hug Rider punches Jason in the arm.

"I thought dad taught you better than to drive on black ice." He says with a chuckle.

Jason still clutching his bruised arm smirks. The smell of rubbing alcohol, sick, and the dead drift to my nostrils and I sneeze from the very sickening smell of it. I haven't realized how disgusting it smells in here. I think, my wolf is happy know that her mate is safe. Mate? It's that what he is? Or is Rider our mate? My wolf and I think in unison.

Rubbing my temples I get up to go get coffee, leaving Rider to tell Jason everything that's been happening. In Riders pack half of the majority of their wolves have gone missing for strange reasons. The elders are saying that the time of consumption has begun. The consumption is sort of an end for some werewolves. It's when if your wolf doesn't like how impure you are, it eats your human flesh and you permanently become a wolf.

I tremble at the very thought of my wolf eating my flesh. The agony of reliving what I've done in the past and the feel of being rejected by your own wolf would drive me to madness. Hint for those of you humans reading this, in humans it's called skitz, but in animals it's called rabies.

When I finally get downstairs and to the kitchen I bump into someone carrying two lattes. Looking up I find Daniel, struggling to regain his balance. Smiling I grab his arm helping him with his balance problem.

"Hey are you here for Jason?" I ask but then I see his face flushed in embarrassment. Wait two lattes?

"Are you meeting someone Daniel?" I ask raising my eyebrows in a sexual manner.

His cheeks turn redder when we start walking again. This time he follows me to the kitchen. I observe his moves, his hands still clutching the lattes.

"Yeah, her name is Frey." His eyes light up even speaking her name.

I wiggle my eyebrows. "Frey huh?" I say, his face turning redder by the minute.

We continue to talk about Frey as I get my coffee and walk back to Jason's room. Daniel all the while seems to be enjoying himself, laughing at my goofiness. For a while I think he didn't want to ask me but he did. Reluctantly I tell him about the accident and about Jason.

"I see. Was it that boy that I had to drive to your house?" He asks eyebrows raised in amusement.

Chuckling I nod, earning a smile from Daniel. I'd been following Daniel up until I'd gotten my coffee. He seemed to be turning towards a room full of patients. Before we go in he stops me with a grave look.

"Promise that you won't tell?" He says looking half panicked.

I snort. "Daniel, I've been keeping your secrets since we were pups know tell me." My eyes narrowing in suspicion.

Reluctantly he pulls back the curtain to reveal a very fragile looking girl, with her brown curls and smiling lips I couldn't help but smile back.

"Jem this is Frey. Frey this is Jem." He says motioning for me to come.

"Nice to meet you." I say. This girl looks very unwell. I think looking at her frail glass thin body.
