"Do not fear failure but rather fear not trying."
- Roy T. Bennett
Chapter 9
It has been two days since Reve hasn't woken up. His personal doctor said that his body was too worked up. We were in the academy's hospital which was actually not that grand, you could see that this place was probably one of the oldest place here in the academy. The walls were painted in blue that had already faded and the white ceiling was already crippled.
"His insults were noisy, nakakamiss," Aster said as she was munching on the burger that Calix bought.
Luna chuckled, "Rest in peace Mason," while doing the sign of the cross on Reve's body.
"Baliw ka Luna," sabi ni Calix.
Luna shrugged while opening a can of soda which started fizzing. I looked at Reve's state, his hair was already disheveled and his arms were full of bruises, some already fading. I wasn't bothered by the bruises I was rather pushed to make myself stronger, to experience something life-changing, It must have taken a lot of courage to carry out the missions that the academy gave. I wish I wasn't all knowledge and books.
"Is this normal?" I asked.
"Reve having to lay down on a hospital bed? Yes it's normal, Flare," Luna sneered while drinking her can of pepsi.
Calix sighed, "Reve is always worked up. Masyado siyang hawak sa leeg ng akademiya."
"He doesn't seem like the person who follows orders from anyone."
I sat on the couch that was near the window and had a sip from the iced coffee that I had at my right hand. Calix followed me with his eyes, examining me as if he was confused on what made me say that.
"Wala siyang choice." aniya.
"Everyone has a choice." I said in a small voice whilst looking outside seeing that the sun was already setting. Aster looked at me, probably hearing what I said,
"He's a pure extraordinaire, which means that he'll need to stay here in the academy forever.
"And that's why he follows the academy's orders, so he could get what he wants." Luna added.
So he's a pure one huh? Choosing normal over something that is enchanting to happen in your life is just bland.
"I mean dude, if I were him, I'd stay here," Aster said, crumpling the bag of chips that she just finished.
"Ew, you'd stay in this shithole?" Luna said. Aster rolled her eyes.
"Hey it isn't that bad."
Luna turned her attention unto Calix, "You just like the attention you narcissist."
