Tenth Midnight

Chapter 10

"It's been five days Mason, don't sleep on us," Luna said whilst opening the curtains inside the room to let some sunlight in.

She took a step back to probably see the view from outside the room when she accidentally bumped her hip on the side of the table making her trip. Luckily, Calix was beside her causing her to lean on him rather than eventually falling onto the ground.

"Careful, sunshine," Calix chuckled, helping her to get her balance back.

Aster squeezed herself between Luna and Calix and motioned them to stay away from each other,

"Leave a space for the holy spirit!"

"Amen!" singit ko habang tumatawa sa sinaad ni Aster.

"Daming mong alam Astrea," Irap ni Luna ngunit mas lalo lang nangasar si Aster sa naging reaksyon ni Luna.

Today is a weekend so we were in the academy's hospital again, visiting Reve who had no bit of awareness on what was happening. It has also been five days since I haven't been dreaming about him. It was calming to not receive such insulting statements from him though, yet half of my mind wants me to have a dream with him in it again. It was confusing.

Calix was looking at Reve's bed having his legs crossed and having his arms extend on the large sofa,

"Sana ganyan din katagal tulog ko."

"Ako na hahampas sa ulo mo," Luna smirked.

"Wild," Calix said having a wide annoying grin plastered on his face.

Luna immediately turned her face sideways. Sinilip naman ni Aster ang kaniyang mukha at bahagyang napaawang ang bibig,

"Your face is red."

"Mainit kase!" Luna bursted, covering her face so we wouldn't see a thing.

"Nakabukas ang aircon, Luna," Singit ko habang nagsasalin ng tubig para sa aking sarili nang biglang may maliit na boses na nagsalita sa aking isipan,

Makisakay ka na lang, utang na loob Flare.

"Luna, what did you say?" I asked looking at Luna who was already flustered.

"I didn't say anything," nakakunot na noo na saad niya.

"You've been practicing huh," Calix said putting his chin on his right arm that was resting on the arms of the sofa.

"Practicing what?"

"Mind reading," singit naman ni Aster na tila bang nasisiyahan sa nakita niya.

I was in awe when I realised that it was Luna's voice in my head. I didn't have to stare at her eyes and concentrate. I took a sip on the glass of water that I was holding and sat beside Calix who scooted over to give me some space.

"It came naturally," I shrugged.

"Yabang! Your eyes didn't even glowed which means that you can secretly use your power," Sambit ni Aster.

Luna rolled her eyes, "Don't give her ideas."

"I can't even control it, chill," I said.

I looked at Reve who was still resting peacefully amidst our resounding chatters. The room suddenly became quiet, I looked at them while each one was probably drowning in their own thoughts. Nawalan na siguro sila ng mapaguusapan. Instead of raising another topic, I found myself staring outside where the trees would constantly sway sideways following the direction of the morning breeze.
