12. Titan Testing

Levi walked down the steps of the cellar, heading to wake up Eren and (y/n). It was early morning, though it didn't seem like it in the cellar since it was constantly dark there.

He headed to (y/n) first. He unlocked the cell she was in and walked up to her.

He felt pity but also slight amusement when he saw her facial expression. She was asleep, but her eyebrows were a little furrowed, causing her to look a little angry.

He sat down on her mattress next to her. He unchained her wrists from the shackles and was shocked to see the marks it had left. Her wrists were red and had the imprints of the shackles. He was also surprised when he felt her hand, which was ice cold. He grabbed both her hands in his, trying to warm them up for her.

He softly traced his thumb up and down her hand intrigued by how soft and tender her skin felt.

Despite the fact that she looks and feels so fragile, she's the strongest of all the cadets. He fathomed.

"Hey you.." she said in a croaky voice, only one eye slightly open, looking up at Levi. "Touching me in my sleep, ey? I knew you were a perv." she said, smiling slightly.

"Is there ever a time when you aren't being a brat?" he asked, glad to see she was in a good mood despite her awful night. He wondered idly if maybe it was because of him that she was in good spirits.

"Nope. I'm a brat 100% through. By the way... Your hands are really nice and warm." she said, as he was still holding hers.

Levi pulled her up to sitting position.

"Well, I could tell you hadn't had the best night."

"Very true. It's too cold, even now. Wait, feel." she said. She grabbed his right hand and put it against her cheek. It was almost as cold as her hand. She smiled pleasantly as his warm hand warmed up her cheek.

"I can tell. We'll try to fix that problem today. For now you should get up." Levi said as he stood up. Levi started walking out of her cell to wake up Eren.

"Wait, Levi.." (y/n) started. Levi turned around, his eyebrows slightly raised.

"Thanks for waking me up nicely.." she mumbled.

Levi's glare softened. "Anytime, brat."

Today's gonna be a gooood day. (y/n) thought. After being woken like that how could it not?

She put on her clothes. Levi walked past again, taking a lot less time waking up Eren than he had with (y/n).

"You ready?" He asked.

"Yup. So what's on the planning for today?" (y/n) asked as she walked over to him. They started walking up the stairs.

"Well first we'll have breakfast, outside likely, since it's nice out. But mainly today, we'll be training you and Eren with your titan ability."

"Wowowow, so that means I might die today?" If I lose control they have to kill me...

Levi hadn't even thought of it that way yet.

"I suppose so." He said. Let's hope that doesn't happen.. "But even if you go rogue I might have thought of a way to not kill you anyway. I'll explain that after breakfast."

"That'd be nice." She said, a little creeped out that she could be killed by Levi at the end of the day.

They walked outside, the sun blinded (y/n), since she had been in the dark cellar all night.

"It's a beautiful day!" She exclaimed. There were just a few white clouds in the sky along with many birds and even a few bees and butterflies.

Levi looked at (y/n) who was happily looking around.
