Songs continued to play, the two unaccompanied teenagers continued to dance, all was perfect. Then, their mood drastically dropped.
"Thank you all so much for coming!" Brendon told the crowd with obvious disappointment. "But, this is going to be my last song for you guys tonight."
The band began playing and then Jaeden's sense of reality returned. He didn't know whether to laugh, cry, scream, or a combination of the three. He could always go see another concert, but it wouldn't compare.
As soon as the final note of the song was played, Jaeden broke into a sob. "Ugh, that man's power."
"Ah, yes. You're experiencing PCD already!" Wyatt let out a slight laugh and handed Jaeden his phone. "Can I get your number so we can maybe go to another concert sometime?"
"Yes," Jaeden replied while wiping his tears. "we should definitely go to another concert. However, nothing's going to compare to what just happened."
All that the curly-haired boy next to him could do was smile. That damn smile, the one that still lit up the whole arena. What was it about Wyatt's smile that made Jaeden's brain go absolutely apeshit?
Jaeden took Wyatt's phone and entered his number. He almost forgot his own number in the heat of the moment but he eventually figured it out.
"Okay," Wyatt said with a soft smile. "I'll maybe see you at another concert soon?"
"Oh! Y-yeah!" Jaeden replied. He had no clue why this curly haired boy was making him so nervous. Well, it wasn't often that Jaeden interacted with cute boys. Also, Wyatt did not seem instantly repulsed by Jaeden, so that was a plus!
"Bye, Jaeden!" Wyatt called back to the nervous boy as he walked away in the opposite direction. Something about the curly-haired boy saying his name gave Jaeden an unrealistic amount of butterflies.
Jaeden smiles to himself and began walking to his car. It was hard not to get confused as to where he was going. It was midnight which meant it was dark, he was surrounded by people, and he forgot which street the parking garage was on.
Eventually, Jaeden made his way back to his car safely and got in. Before inserting the key into the ignition, Jaeden took a deep breath and sighed. He had to take a moment and reflect on everything that just happened.
First of all, he saw Panic! at the fucking Disco, his favorite band to ever exist. Secondly, he got a cool t-shirt. Thirdly, he met a very cute boy who didn't throw up at the sight of him. And finally, he got the same cute boy's phone number! Wow! It almost seemed like he was living in a poorly written WattPad fanfiction.
After what seemed like ages of reflection and deep breathing, Jaeden decided to start the car and drive back home. He couldn't wait to tell his mom everything! She's basically his best friend, and what's wrong with that?

"Mom!" Jaeden called as he unlocked the front door. "I'm hom-" He stopped talking as soon as he saw his mom making out with an unknown man on their couch.
"I-I'm just gonna go upstairs now..." Jaeden whisper-yelled, as his eyes continued to grow wider and wider. He was definitely on his way to Google search 'how to unsee what I just saw.'
Since he couldn't tell his mom about the concert tonight, he planned to tell her tomorrow. Tomorrow was Sunday, after all, and it's not like they were going to church.
Jaeden and his mom used to go to their local church regularly, until Jaeden became a teenager and lost interest. His mother decided it would be too much wasted energy trying to get him to go to church. (Especially if he'd just end up sulking the whole time.)
So, in the Martell household, Sundays are known as their "lazy day." Either way, Jaeden hoped that the random man (in which his mom made out with) would be gone by tomorrow.
As he was unable to shake that weird sight
off, he decided that he'd text his friends and tell them about the concert he'd just seen. Jaeden knew at least one of them would be awake— their sleep schedule was far more fucked up than his.

jaeden: guys the show was SO GOOD and i met a cute boy and we exchanged numbers

sophia: DAMN JAE what's his name???

finn: omg soph it's like u predicted: jaeden has a p!atd loving love interest now

jaeden: pshh idk if it'll go anywhere. and his name is wyatt and his hair is like curly and it's cute

jaeden: hmm. i didn't ask. he didn't look older than 17 doe so idk ma'am

jack: match made at a concert <3 wow i love it

finn: shut up jack

Jaeden texted his friends for hours until finally feeling a bit sleepy at 4 AM. He knew going to bed at such a late hour would fuck up his sleep schedule even more, but it was a weekend.
Going to bed that late was not such a good idea after all, as his mother came into his room at 9 AM sharp. Therefore, Jaeden was left with a mere five hours of sleep and eye bags that you could see from a mile away.
"Sorry you had to see that last night, Jae." His mother said with a guilty tone in her voice. "I didn't think you'd be home that early!"
"Mom, it was like 1 AM. How is that early?" Jaeden questioned as he rubbed the sleepiness from his eyes.
"Okay, fine, you're right!" She laughed it off surprisingly quickly. "Anyways, how was the show?"
Ah, the show. Just the thought of last night's performance filled Jaeden with energy and happiness. He heard his favorite music, saw a cute boy, bought a cool shirt— everything was perfect.
"It was most definitely the best night of my life." Jaeden laughed as he gave his mom a hug. "Thank you for getting me the tickets!"
"Of course, sweetie! I wanted to do something special for your birthday considering all I got you last year was some candy and a pair of shoes."
Jaeden laughed at his mother's response. After it being just the two of them for so long, they were kind of like the same person.
"Anyways, let me tell you all about the concert."
