Hide and Seek

It's only begun-Ch8

Mario took a deep breath, as he got his flashlight out ready to conquer the darkness that already began to engulf any light threatening to extinguish it. He had to feel his way in the darkness, as his flashlight began to get dimmer the more he advanced on.  Linda and Jae watch worriedly, as Mario almost becomes lost in the dark but hears him call for the two of them to make their way down.  Jae follows after Linda and by the time they're down there.  The smell of blood lingers in the air, only creating dread and panic to run through their veins.  Down there is a mirror that has been cracked into a thousand shards.  Underneath them they notice the glass shards spilling out with blood.  Jae backs away instantly only to hear a dark chuckle down in her ear.  "I'll show you all something very interesting...Welcome to the Maze of memories".

The ghost disappears as more horrible memories begin to play on and on like a broken record.  Jae notices a little girl, dressed very elegantly from head to toe.  Beside her is a boy who is a little bit older but she can instantly tell that they're from a rich family.  Another memory enters and a man holding what appears to be a knife, stalks menacingly towards the two children who are holding onto each other for dear life.  A look of mirth passes his face, as the blade flashes across the boy's face and cuts the girl down in one strike.  Before the boy can respond to seeing the girl laying in a pool of blood.  A sudden flash hits him right in the eyes and he yells in pain, as his vision grows hazy and darkness begins to fill around him.  "What a shame it came to this... You two weren't very good hiders". 

Linda, Jae and Mario all inhale a deep breath as they all come back to reality.  Their bodies shaking uncontrollably at what they just witnessed together.  "D-do you think...?"-Jae.  "They were...murdered in cold blood"-Linda.  "W-who did it?? Who could be so cruel to do this to a bunch of kids?"-Mario.  "I... feel like I'm gonna be sick let's get out of here"-Jae.  She runs up the stairs only to here a lock being turned.  She panics and starts banging against the door.  Mario and Linda make their way over, trying to shout with all their might but it's useless.  Not a single footstep passes by, as the day almost comes to nightfall. 

"Great he trapped us in here for what? Are we not meant to be hiding?"-Mario

"There must be another way out of here... let's split up and look for any hidden entrances"-Linda

"This stone looks really loose.  I wonder if I pull it...aha! Guys I found a secret passage let's see where it leads too"-Jae

The 3 of them make their way through the tunnel, huddling close as they hear the sound of rats and mice scattering around in the dark.  Jae jumps and bumps into Mario, as he gently holds her in his arms for a brief moment.  She shoots him a grateful smile before letting go.  The tunnel feels endless and that it goes on for hours.  However they hear a sudden scream and start following the direction in which it came from.  They see Mia being held high in the air with Yasmin wrapping her hand around her throat.  She struggles feeling her strength fade within seconds.  All 3 rush over and pull Yasmin away from Mia who drops to the floor coughing.  They notice her eyes have gone completely black. Soulless, not an ounce of life in them at all.  "Hey Yas!! It's us! Mario, Linda and Jae!"-Mario.  "Your precious Yasmin has disappeared... I'll be taking over for a while... since she's trying to regain control over her body heh".  "What are you trying to accomplish with using Yasmin to do your bidding?"-Mario.  "This girl just witnessed betrayal before her very eyes...Something is very special about her.  None of you are able to relate to her pain.  I feel a connection to her, that's why I'm using her body and no one elses".  "Did you fall for her at first sight?"-Linda.  "Nothing romantic.  She and I share the same kind of pain.  We're connected in that sense...Though bringing her to the afterlife with me is not such a bad idea after.  She is quite beautiful".  "Don't you dare!! She still has a life to live"-Linda.  "Don't you know of Yasmin's hidden past Linda?" "I have no idea what you're talking about, but no one is taking my baby sister from me!"-Linda.  "You need to see the bigger picture Linda....Tell me have you never once considered that your sister is not your blood related sister?".  "W-what but my parents would have told me if that was true!"-Linda.  "The truth is not always meant to be revealed... I wonder if Yasmin recognised me when we first made eye contact".  "Who are you to her? Why are you so interested in her?"-Jae.  "Maybe I'll answer your questions another time... remember you still have to find Aya and Xiaojun.  I can't promise I'll keep them alive for a long time.  "We're sick of your games!! All these horrible things you're showing us...is this your past?"-Jae.  "I'll show you one more memory that will make you see my connection to her".

A young girl holding a man's hand makes her way into the mansion.  She runs up to a boy who stares into her eyes lovingly.  She smiles and hugs him and lets go after the man gives the two a disapproving look.  The little girl jumps into the man's arms and the boy shudders, rooted to the spot in fear as the man glares at him.  "Meet me outside at our spot in an hour". "Okay! See you in a little while"-Yasmin. 

Linda goes pale, followed by Mario and Jae.  The boy chuckles in amusement as he realises they caught on quickly.  "Now do you see...? She's part of my past.  The reason why I died"
