Chapter Seventeen: Pump It Back

"Baby will you pump me, will you?"

SERAFINA POV

DeVante and I are once again trying to figure out what the hell we're doing. He's trying his hardest to get back in my good graces, and this is great. He needs to WORK for my respect from ground zero. 

I was lost in the comfort of a luxurious bubble bath when I heard the fire alarm going off. Not again! I instantly knew it that Ms. Denton was responsible. She's a sweet old lady, but she has to learn how to turn the fire down on the stove, like seriously! I jumped out the tub, quickly lotioned down, put on a sweatshirt, underwear, hoodie, and quickly made my way out the apartment building with the other residents. (I locked the door of course). We all were outside, waiting for the fire department to check what was happening. I was praying that nobody would see me like this. I walked to my car and immediately drove around to kill time because it would be an hour before they could shut the alarm off. I was making my way down Woodson Avenue when I saw Mary struggling with some bags. I stopped closer to her.

Me: Mary!?

She looked up and me and smiled. 

Me: Get in, I'll give you a ride. 

Mary: Thanks baby girl!

She got in the car and told me to drive her to the studio.

Mary: What are you doing here, looking all pretty and shit!?

Me: Nothing, nothing at all baby. My apartment had another mishap with the fire alarm so we're stuck outside for another hour. I wasn't going to let anyone see me like this.

She laughed when I unzipped my hoodie. 

Mary: Well, I gotta tell DeVante to keep it in his pants when you come inside the studio.

Me: Oh no no, I can't go in there looking like this, Mary. You're buggin'!!!

Mary: I'm just kidding. 

Me: Where are you heading?

Mary: Actually to where you stay at, I have to give these tapes to Dalvin and T-Boz. DeVante's there.

Me: I forgot that Tionne lives in the same place as me. 

After a 15 minute drive, we were back at my apartment building. Mary went to my place and after we parted ways, I went back to my apartment. But I couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching me....

Since I couldn't enjoy my bath, I decided to get in the shower and call it a night. After 45 minutes, I got out, lotioned down and was about to slip on a pair of panties when someone began knocking on the door. Frustrated, I wrapped a towel around me and without thinking of who it was, I swung the door open and there stood DeVante. 

Me: I told you, I'd call you later on!

DeVante: Don't look like that to me. 

Me: I've been trying to relax all day.

DeVante: A little rude for you not to invite me inside, huh?

I playfully rolled my eyes and let him on in. He looked around the place and sat down on the couch.

Me: Do you want some water? Because you look a bit thirsty to me.

He laughed.

DeVante: No baby. 

Me: What do you need? Look, it's late now. 

He gently sat me down on his lap, trying to ease the stress off me.
