"Severus?" I stared at the dark-haired man standing in my doorway. Rage built up in me and I started to shut the door in his face, only to have him block the way open.
"I came to give you this." He said, shoving a vial of the moonstone potion in my hand, "In case you have failed to notice, the new moon is tonight."
I clenched the vial in my fist. I had lost track of time. No wonder I felt so drained.
Taking the opportunity, Snape stepped into my room and closed the door firmly behind him.
"Don't think because you bring some kind of peace treaty I'll just let you back into my life," I said, turning away from him. I hoped he would just leave and not make this any harder than it already was.
I leaned against the chair, gripping the vial as I heard his boots move closer on the wooden floor. Then his hand was on my shoulder, turning me to face him. I stared up into his scowling face, wanting to push him away...but couldn't.
"(Y/N)," Severus' voice was slow and thoughtful, "I am a selfish man. I should have told you who and what I was before drawing you close to me. I should have been honest with you and for that, I am truly sorry."
As he spoke, he cupped my face in his hands, making me look up into his dark eyes. When I didn't pull away, he slowly bent his face and kissed me.
Instead of pushing him away, I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him closer. I wanted to scream at him, hit him, hug him....but kissing him was much simpler.
When we finally came up for air, I said hoarsely, "Lie to me again, and I'll kill you."
Tracing the line of my cheek and jaw, Severus replied, "I'll hand you my own wand to do it."
