Jarus was finishing up in his office, and getting ready to retire. An owl flew at his open window, before entering, it disappeared in a puff of white smoke, and the Light Witch now stood inside his office. She was dressed in white and her cloak flowed just above the floor's surface. The flow of her cloak resembled smoke, or if it was swaying within water. Her beauty was distracting and able to take any man's breath away, but her presence didn't have an effect on Jarus. His heart longed for the woman standing in the room with him, but in the present moment, there was something blocking his affection. No longer controlling his own thought, Jarus resided in a cloud of confusion deep in the back of his own mind.
"I thought we had a deal," said the Light Witch, "but it seems you have other desires than the ones you made me aware of."
"I still have the same desires, but I needed to make sure you would follow through on your side. I needed to make sure you had the correct motivation," said Ladieta with Jarus' tongue.
"Understandable...Not the best way to go about things, but I can see how your desperation could lead you to such actions."
"Desperation? I feel it's more about showing your weaknesses, and control. I have your heart, and if you don't start making your moves, I'll be forced to hurt you."
"I really don't like threats. I wish you hadn't done this."
"You were about to take out the coven. You know when they were taken out of the equation, my power would dramatically decrease. It was all a power move to ensure your control over everything. I needed to let you know how vulnerable you really were. I don't want to take over as the High Priestess without any power, and be like that decrepit witch you have living on the outskirts now."
"Well, it seems every time the darkness gets a little power, I have to start worrying. We can't just have balance? There's always these power plays. I don't understand it. Us, working together, is always the best option."
"You don't want to work together. You want me to be under you, and do as you're told. You don't want balance. You, yourself, want control, and taking out the coven was your power play."
"Power play? They attacked the city. They were a threat, and it needed to be dealt with...So, it was. Now you're showing yourself as a threat, not an ally."
"Well luckily I have a little security to ensure my safety until this is all done."
"You have really failed in assessing my weaknesses. This has all put me in a predicament. Do I still work with you, or do I choose another prospect."
"I don't think you're in the position to make another choice. Any move you make against me, right now, will bring harm to your love. I know your weakness."
"The point I'm making is...I'm not the one you underestimated."
Inside the coven's shelter, Bynan sat on the chair watching the scouts focus their attention outside to any approaching threats. Their biggest mistake was not securing Bynan. Feeling the time was right, Bynan began waving his hands in a familiar pattern. His movements caught the attention of the scouts, but it was too late for them to react. They all knew what he was doing, and it surprised them all. Bynan never revealed he also possessed the power to ghost walk. Completing the movements, Bynan was consumed in gray smoke, and a beast escaped the cloud. A large brown bison tore through the shelter moving everything out of its way with ease.
One scout tried to move out of the way, but was gored through the chest before making his escape. Ash fell from around the bison's horn. The other two scout's quickly escaped to the spirit realm, and brought forth their panthers to fight the bison. With a swipe of its head, the bison knocked one of the panthers through the shelter wall. The second panther jumped and sunk its claws and teeth deep into the bison's hide.
