"Ugh!" Jessica groaned as she stepped into the parlor, she was just coming for the study where she had actually spent her night yesterday after her argument with Gillis.
She pulled on her striped blue and white pjs as she stretched, needless to say her night yesterday was terrible. She felt so alone and sad although, she had locked herself in the study and refused to answer door whenever Gillis called or knocked.
She slept on the couch in the study and she couldn't quite tell if she didn't feel comfortable because the sofa was too small or because she wasn't in the arms of a certain someone, glued to each other's sides under their duvet because she was angry with him.
God I missed him. She thought to herself as she came to the dinning area. Suddenly, she stopped when she came face to face with the person at the center of her thoughts.
Gillis stood before her with a folded and buttered slice of bread in one hand and a hot cup of tea in the other. He was dressed in a white shirt designed with little blue patterns of anchors tucked neatly into a pair of dark blue jeans and a pair of black trainers. His short hair was combed out neatly, his face was bright, his chiseled jaws were clenched as his mouth paused from chewing. He smelt like fresh sea breeze and Jessica was inwardly drooling after taking him all in.
Gillis eyes softened on seeing her and he shot her a warm smile, "Good morning," he dropped his bread on a plate on the table and his tea cup and said, "How are you?"
Horny as ever! Boy why do you always have to look so good? Dang! Look at your fine ass self! Jessica thought but in real life, her yanga will not allow her to speak so she just grunted at him and kept moving forward.
Gillis walked to her and stopped her, holding her arms, "Babe," he said softly.
"Gillis please I just woke up," she pushed his hands away, "I don't have strength for you, please."
"Jessica please," he said pulling her towards himself, he tightened his grip around her waist and whispered softly to her, "I'm sorry, Jess. I didn't mean t-"
🎶No matter where you go, remember roads that will lead you home.🎶
Gillis groaned loudly, he hated the fact that his phone had interrupted him at such a sensitive time. He let go of Jessica then he pulled out his phone.
"Good morning sir," he said.
Who's he talking to? Jessica thought to herself watching him place a hand to the bridge of his nose while answering the phone call. He looked honestly annoyed to be talking to whoever it was in the line.
"I'll be there," he finally said ending the call. He exhaled deeply before saying to her, "I have to go to work-"
"Of course," Jessica rolled her eyes. Of course, he was going to go out again, it's always about his business.
"Don't be like that," he said, "I-" he stopped, he was heavily conflicted right now, I mean, of course he wanted to stay home and resolve things with his wife but if he wasn't out now, he would be 15 minutes late for his delivery and that would earn him a strike. Which would most likely end in him not receiving the help he so badly needed.
He sighed. He had made his choice.
"Look, I'm sorry, okay? I promise to hear you out when I come back, okay?" He said but she just stood quietly rubbing her elbows. He moved closer to her and held her folded arms, "Please babe?"
