"Oh God of mercy, where is this girl?" Terence said impatiently beating his hands on the car steering wheel.
"Guy relax, she said she will soon be here," Clifford said from beside him.
"We've been here for over fifteen minutes guy!" He retorted in annoyance, "shebi, you see why I said she shouldn't come? By now we would've reached the place sef and come back!"
"Terrence, cut the girl some slack now," Gillis said from the backseat, "you know this is the first time that she is late to anything. I'm sure there's a good reason for this."
"Abi oh!" Clifford added, "See how he is just making noise upandan as if this is not the first time he's coming early to something."
Terrence smacked his head, "What do you mean? No, my friend what do you mean?"
"Come, who are you slapping like that?" Clifford turned sharply to Terrence, "You think me, I'm Okocha or one of those boys that you'll be slapping upandan because of Hen—"
"I'm so sorry I'm late!" Henrita said as she slid into the car. She was dressed in a white round neck, body fitted dress, she wore pearls tear drop earrings with matching necklace and bracelets. She held a black purse in her hands and her black stilettos shuffled on the foot mat of the car as she sat down.
"I'm so, so sorry I'm late—okay?" She paused, noticing that for some reason they were all staring at her, "What happened? Why are you people looking at me like that? Am I overdressed?"
"No!" Clifford replied from the front, "my dear, you look absolutely stunning."
"Yes, you look really beautiful," Gillis said from beside her.
"Thank you," she smiled and flipped her straight hair as she spoke, "you know, I cannot be dulling at such a high class convention. Your homegirl, I have to represent."
Gillis and Clifford laughed.
"You sound just like my wife," Gillis chuckled, "Do you know she actually dressed me up for the convention?"
"I can tell, see how sharp you're looking," Henrita complimented Gillis.
BAM! Came the sound of Clifford's palm connecting with the back of Terence's head.
"Guy wetin dey work you nah? Which kind rough play!" Terrence snapped.
"When she was not here you were complaining like you wanted to rent the heavens and the earth but now she is here, look at you shamelessly gawking at her with your mouth open," he retorted, "My friend, drive this car and let's go to where we're going. See your long head like garri turner."
Terrence eyed him before turning away to start the vehicle as he looked up in the rear view mirror, he locked eyes with Henrita.
Terence gawking at me? She thought, Of course! He's probably looking for what he will use to yab me later, she hissed and turned away, "animal," she mumbled.
"I heard that!" Terrence said as he drove off.
Today, they were headed to Obi Wali event Centre for the The Annual Craft convention. They had registered for the convention a week ago and had recently gotten their tags and all other necessities needed for the convention.
