Today will be a new day, I will be a better person than I was yesterday.
I get up and I immediately feel so nauseous. I run to my door and open it, and I vomit. "Are you okay?!" Margot asks me, "I'm fine, I've just been really overwhelmed lately." I quickly get dressed, and head to my privy council room. I've been really behind on responding to treaties and letters.
As I'm writing to back to a local blacksmith to let him know that I will approve of his loan, I hear very loud horns being blown. I immediately get up and my knights enter my chamber, "What is going on?!" I make my way outside as my knights follow behind me. I see a man coming towards me with a group of servants and luggage. "YOUR MAJESTY, MY DEAREST NIECE." oh lord. It can't be. As he gets closer, I finally see the familiar face. It's my uncle Francis, Duke of Anjou. He picks me up and spins me, "my niece, how I've missed you." he kisses my head. "Uncle, I did not know you were coming to Scotland. What's the occasion?" I tell him as we both walk into my castle. "I wanted to visit my favorite niece, did you not read the letter that I sent." I shouldn't have gotten so behind on reading my letters. "Sorry, I've just been a little occupied. You are always welcome in Scotland." I grab his hand and squeeze it. "Uncle, why don't you got get situated in your quarters, and we will dine together later." He kisses my forehead, "I'll see you soon, niece."
I run to the kitchen and find Emilia, "Emilia, my uncle Francis is here. I need you to tell my privy council that we need to meet urgently. I also need a grand dinner prepared for tonight." I'm so stressed and now my uncle is here. Emilia nods and is on her way to fetch my privy members. I smell quail eggs; I've never liked them much. But for some reason they seem really appetizing. I head over to the cook, "I would like some quail eggs." she grabs a bowl and pours some in there, "Thank you so much." I say to a middle-aged woman, and she gives me a kind smile.
I'm walking to my privy council chamber and I'm shoving these quail eggs in my face. They taste so delicious. I enter the chamber and I don't see my privy council members yet. I sit down and look through the pile of letters and try to find my uncles. Ahh here it is.
My niece I write to you to tell you that I will make my way to Scotland in about 4 days. I' have grown a bit bored of France. So, what better way than to spend some time with my favorite niece. I will see you see you soon.
Francis, Duke of Anjou
Francis is not bored of France; he is bored with the women of France. You can say that I know my uncle quite well. He is a lady's man; you will never see him with the same woman twice. But he has a soft spot for me. He really loved my father and I guess I'm the closest thing he has to remember him. My uncle has always been quite kind to me. I'm sure one day when he's done with his shenanigans, he'll be a great father.
My privy council members enter, and they all take their seat, including Lorenzo. "As you might know by now, my uncle the Duke of Anjou is here. He is here to visit, and I would like him to be treated with respect." In Scotland, not all French people are loved. I'm barely passing by as their Scottish Queen. "Your majesty, the people will grow curious as to why Francis is here." my privy member tells me. "He is my uncle and will possibly be the future king of France. There will be no threats. I want extra knights around the castle."
Lorenzo looks at me and smiles. "Your majesty, shall we hold a celebration for the duke?" Enzo asks. "Tomorrow we shall celebrate. Tonight, I'm to dine with my uncle." We continue to talk about social issues such as the Scottish border. We've noticed that Elizabeth has added more guards. They fear that Elizabeth may be planning something. I assure them that Elizabeth and I are allies for now. After we are done discussing, I go to visit James to invite him to dine with Francis and I.
