KAGEYAMA'S POV:
It had been at least 6 years since my last sleepover. Of course my last one was parent-arranged and I didn't have to concern myself with preparation and planning. Questions filled my head. Do I have to make dinner? What are we going to do? Do we sleep in the same bed? I decided to deal with these questions one at a time:
1. Food. I looked around the kitchen, aimlessly staring at spices and an assortment of instant ramen packets. My mother wasn't home so I couldn't ask her for cooking advise, not that she would be much help. I set the packets on the counter and considered this question answered.
2. Activity. After thoughtful consideration I settled on us watching a movie or two on my bed. I had a relatively large laptop that we could use, and I could set the bed up with lots of pillows and blankets.
3. Sleeping Arrangements. I had no idea about this one, but I figured that whatever Hinata wanted I would do.
My phone vibrated in my pocket.
Tangerine texted: OTW :)
My heart sped up and my face got warm. Lately I had been thinking a lot about what happened at the waterfall. The scene would come back to me, mostly in dreams, of the small ginger boy pulling on my hair and me moving my hands up his swim trunks. Ever since then, I had been missing his touch. Later that day on the abandoned bus, when I cuddled into him as he laid on top of me, it felt good. He felt good. His cold back pressed on my warm chest, the smell of his hair lacing the insides of my nose, his small figure melting into my sturdy composure. The way he trusted me, not only in volleyball, but with holding him in such an intimate way. I craved it. Never had I been shown that much affection before, that much attention. Sure I had been in a few volleyball magazines and lots of people knew my nickname in middle school, but this was different. This was a different kind of attention, something I've never had. A feeling of priority in someone else's life, someone wanting me to be in their life. I shook my head and dismissed my thoughts.

As I finished throwing pillows onto my bed, I heard a knock at the door. I ran downstairs and opened it. It was pouring outside. When did it start raining? Standing in the rain in front of me was Hinata, drenched and shivering. I grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him inside forcefully.
"Dumbass why didn't you let yourself in it's pouring?!" I snapped.
He smiled and scratched the back of his head. "I didn't know if I should or not, it started raining as I was halfway to your house. It was too late to turn back to get my mom to drive, plus my luggage is heavy, and"— "Kags I'm really cold can we go to your room?"
I led the way upstairs and into my dark room, walking over and turning on my desk lamp once I was sure I wasn't still smiling. I couldn't let him know how much having his presence around meant to me yet. The ginger stopped in his tracks when he saw my bed.
"Tobio Kageyama, did you... prepare?!" He said followed by bubbly laughter.
I paused and thought a moment. "Was I not supposed to?"
More laughter left his mouth. "I didn't take you for someone that cared about having fun. I expected for you to kick me out of your room and make me sleep of the couc"—"Hey I'm still really cold and wet can you give me some clothes?"
"You have three days worth of clothes in your bag!"
He looked at me and frowned. "But these clothes were supposed to be my PJs" He wined, gesturing at the clothes he had on. "And all my other outfits are planed out and stylish! Pleeeease!" He begged with a puppy-eyed expression.
"Fine" I mumbled, going over to my drawer and throwing him a shirt and sweatpants.
He caught them on his head and threw them on the floor, taking his shirt and pants off in front of me.
"Hey Kags I'm going to need some dry underwear too."
I looked him over. He had both of his hands in his hair, looking at me in the eyes with nothing on but a pair of boxers. My eyes wanted nothing more than to wander his body, and my mouth wanted nothing more than to stay quiet and admire him in silence. However, I couldn't.
"They're not going to fit."
"Well I need something."
I sighed and threw him a pair, turning around and making sure my eyes stayed planted on the wall in front of me and my excitement stay in the upper body. The last thing I needed was to explain to my male friend why I had a boner after looking him up and down. I heard my bed squeak and I turned around. He was sitting criss-cross under my covers and holding one of the many pillows I laid out.
"What are we watching?" He chirped.
It was only around 7pm, and I wasn't sure when to start the sleepover activities. I assumed now would be a good time.
"I was going to leave it up to you dumbass. Do you want me to make you ramen?"
His smile left him and a confused look spread on his face. He gulped. "You're, going to make me ramen?"
I nodded and headed downstairs to make it. After trial and error and 4 packets later, I made both of us ramen bowls with green onions, half a soft-boiled egg, and seasoning in it. I brought it up to Hinata, who had been scrolling through Netflix looking for stuff to watch. The thunder rumbled outside and the small boy in my bed jumped at the sound. I told him to scoot over and I crawled into the bed as well. Hinata had already picked four movies we were going to watch.
What a dork.
HINATA'S POV:
The movie started and I allowed myself to dig into the bowl of noodles Kageyama made for me. I wasn't sure why, but when the setter asked if I wanted him to make me ramen my entire mood switched. Only moments ago I was in a cheery and ebullient mindset, now I was feeling something different. A craving to hug the boy sitting next to be, to be close to him. I wanted him to hold me like he did in the abandoned bus, and I wanted his hands to move up my pants like they did at the waterfall. It was an odd feeling, it made me feel guilty. My stomach sank and my heartbeat spiked, leaving me with a flustered face that couldn't take its eyes off of him. I finished the mediocre ramen and passed it to Kageyama to set down next to his empty bowl. It was cozy in a warm bed with the cold air around us, but what was most comforting was the body heat radiating off of him. He wasn't too warm, but just warm enough to sooth my shivers and to instantly tire me. The sound of the storm outside and the dark room with the exception of a dim table lamp added to the comfort. I decided not to think and just act, like I usually do.
I scooted closer to the taller boy and sank lower into the bed, still sitting up. My legs were loosely criss-crossed, my knee how touching Kageyama's thigh. He had his left knee up and the leg closest to me outstretched. He poorly attempted at acting like he didn't notice me move closer.
Cute.
I yawned and he looked over at me. Only he was only looking at one part; my mouth. I scanned his face but I couldn't make out what he was thinking. His expression was stern and intense. I turned back to the laptop screen, but he continued to stare with those focused and driven blue eyes. I faced him again, this time with my own stern expression.
"What are you looking at?" I questioned.
He immediately softened his stare and turned his head back to the movie, letting out a sign and leaning back on the pillows behind him.
I need to be closer. What can I do without making it obvious.
My thoughts were interrupted by a hand in my hair, playing with it and tugging it lightly. Kageyama had his arm outstretched from his laying position, still looking at the movie but weaving his hand in and out of my hair. He could reach my head with ease, even though I was sitting up. I closed my eyes and fell sideways onto his stomach. We laid there and watched our movies with the storm in the background until we both fell asleep, only to get up two hours later to head to Tokyo.
Sorry the last couple chapters haven't been advancing the plot as much I know I'm writing too much fluff but I can't help myself when I think of cute scenarios at 3am. Next chapter will actually add to the rising conflict oop.
