My phone rings at lunch, during rehearsal. I excuse myself from Alex, and our scene where Puck finds out that Quinn is pregnant. I check the caller ID and answer it.
"Hey mom. How are you?" I ask, going to sit in the seats in the audience.
"Good honey. How's the baby?"
"All good. What's up?" I ask. My mom never called during school hours.
"I just ran into your father."
"W-what?" My father left when I was 10. He was drunk one night, went out and never came back. I was relieved to wake up and find that the biggest curse in my life was gone.
"Yeah, and he's coming back home with me."
"No. Mom. No". I don't want to see him.
"We can be a family again."
"I don't want him to be apart of my family. I don't want him near me. He ran out when I was 10. If he's there, then I'm not."
"Ash, your over-reacting. He's really changed. He's sobered up and-" I cut her off. I was angry.
"I have to go. But mom, I'll be fine without both of you, because in case you haven't noticed, your not really around much anyways." And with that I hung up. I walked back onto the stage.
"You good?" Alex asks. I nod.
"Okay guys, from the top." Miss Fabray says, clapping her hands.
