"Here's your baby." The midwife hands me my quickly clean baby. I take her from her and lay my eyes on her. A tear slides down my eye, and lands near my baby's.
"Hey there baby. I'm your mommy. That's right I'm your mommy." I look into the green eyes that are so like mine, and fall in love, like I never have before.

"So, quite a day huh?", Ben says, sitting next to me, watching our new daughter sleep.
"It was worth it." I lean my head up against his chest, not tearing my eyes away from her.
"She's so beautiful." Ben says. "Just like her mother. She looks just like you."
"She has your nose." I smile, pulling my eyes away and looking at Ben.
"I love you, "I smile at him. He smiles, and kisses the top of my head.
"I love you more. And thank you."
"For what?".
"For bringing my beautiful daughter into the world." I smile and kiss him lightly.
"You know it's weird. I never thought that I would love something so little so much. But when I heard her cries, and saw her little face, I knew that I could never love somebody as much as I love her." I whisper, staring through the clear glass, watching her little chest go up and down so peacefully.
"I know. I love her more than anything." Ben replies. We watch her little chest go up and down, and we hear her cries as she wakes up. Ben walks over and picks her up.
"Hey bubba. I'm your daddy, and that's your mommy. And you're our little baby girl." I smile, and take him from her. She blinks her little eyes, and laughs for the first time, at Ben's tongue out. And in that moment I know that life is complete, and I'll never need anything else.
