"Okay, thanks Sam, Kate and Elle. That was really good." Miss Fabray says, clapping from the audience.

"Alright, we just have Alex, Lucy and Ash to go. Who's up?" Lucy puts her hand up. I clap as she walks up to the stage. She stands by the microphone and starts to sing. I nudge Alex, and he rolls his eyes, but I can tell that he is captivated by her voice. Everybody is. She mesmerises everybody in the audience, and some people walking past the door, stop and poke their heads in. She receives a standing ovation when she is done.

"That was one of your best performances yet, Lucy. Can't wait for us to tackle that song for Rachel Berry." Lucy smiles and comes and sits next to Alex and I. I high five her, and Alex fist bumps her.

"Kay, Alex, Ash, your up." We walk up to the stage. He hands me my guitar and I sit on the stool, next to the drums, where he takes his seat. I nod, and I start strumming. Alex sings the first part.

There's a girl in the backyard banging on her drum

Sitting in a junk pile laughing at the sun

Singing "Ah-ah-ah, I just wanna be a Rockstar"

He tunes out and I start.

There's a boy in the backseat singing to the song

Playing on the radio, knowing he's the one

Singing "Ah-ah-ah, I just wanna be a rockstar"

Eh, yeah

Both of us sing the next line.

Singing "Ah-ah-ah, I was born to be a rockstar"

Alex sings the next bit. He points at me.

There's a girl in the tree top looking at the stars

Waiting for a touchdown coming in from Mars

Thinking "Is there anybody out there?"

I jab my head at him.

Oooh

There's a boy thinking of her playing his guitar

Searching for the answer buried in his heart

Thinking "Ah-ah-ah, is there anybody out there?"

Ooh, yeah

We both join in now.

Singing "Ah-ah-ah"

Is there anybody out there?".

Alex starts a faster beat and I strum harder.

If there's a meaning can you show me a sign?

The more I look it just gets harder to find

The world is spinning and I wanna know why

The next bit is just me.

And we're all getting older wishing we were young

Hanging on the memory of what we would become

Singing "Ah-ah-ah, I was born to be a rockstar"

Singing "Ah-ah-ah, I just wanna be a rockstar"

I just wanna be a Rockstar.

Alex has the next bit, while I sing backup vocals.

Singing "Ah-ah-ah, I was born to be a rockstar"

If there's a meaning can you show me a sign?

The more I look it just gets harder to find

The world is spinnin' and I wanna know why

And maybe we will never figure it out

I got a feelin' that's what life's all about

I'm learning anything is possible now

So take a ticket and get off the line (Singing "Ah-ah-ah, I was born to be a rockstar")

Take a ticket and get off the line

Take a ticket and get off the line (Singing "Ah-ah-ah, I just wanna be a rockstar")

Take a ticket and get off the line (I was born to be a rockstar, yeah-yeah)

I was born to be a rockstar (Yeah-yeah, uh yeah)

Alex stops drumming and I stop playing. The next bit is both of us.

I was born to be a Rockstar.

Everybody stands up and claps. The auditorium is full at the back, of people who heard us singing from outside. I stand up and hug Alex.

"Just to be clear though, I want to be a singer, not a Rockstar though." I say. Everybody laughs.
