"Okay guys that was great. Ash you okay?" Miss Fabray calls from the audience.
I nod and take deep breaths. It had been two weeks since Ben and I's fight and all was well. He had apologised straight away and I had sung my mistakes song which I crushed. Elle, Kate and I had sung Britney's Oops...I Did It Again and killed it. The Unholy Trinity strikes again. I walk off the stage to grab a water bottle from my bag.
"You alright Ash?", Sam asks walking up behind me.
"I'm fine. Can everybody stop asking me that. I'm pregnant, not bloody handicapable, I can sing and dance without going into labour, okay? I'm not an invalid, so stop treating me like one. Just leave me the hell alone!", and I grab my bag and storm out of the auditorium. I go to my car and fling down my bag.
"I've been in there for three hours, I can be tired." I say aloud to myself. I push my keys into the ignition and pull out of the student car park. I checked my watch and cursed. My phone rang from my bag and I checked the ID. Lucy. I hit decline and focused on the road. I pulled into the doctors carpark and grabbed my bag. I went and sat in the waiting room. My phone rang again. I didn't bother to check the ID and I hit decline straight away.
"Ashley Lopez."
I stand up and follow my doctor into the room.
"So how's everything going?" Dr Parker asks as I lay on the bed.
"Everything's good so far. I had the Braxton Hicks a few nights ago and the only annoying thing is everybody asking me if I'm okay." Dr Parker laughs and rubs the gel over my swollen belly.
"Did the Braxton Hicks hurt, or were they unnoticeable?"
"They felt like period cramps really, except like times one thousand." I scrunch my nose in memory of the awful cramps that had shaken my body. Not enough to make me cry, but enough to give me the day off school. Ben had stayed home too, and listened to me yell at him for five hours before the pains stopped.
"If they hurt heaps, then you probably will have a very painful labour. But will most likely be quick." I groan at the thought of having a super painful labour.
"Let's have a look at your baby girl." The sonogram comes up on the screen and my baby comes up on the screen. My heart softens and all of the negativity that I'd been feeling over the past couple of days vanishes.
"Well, her heads facing down, so she's actually ready to come. Only two more weeks."
"Two more weeks. Can't come quick enough." I sigh. After about five more minutes I walk out of the room and jump in my car.
"Two more weeks," I say aloud to nobody in particular.
