"Beth, uh go inside that building with uh Nick and the others." Ian told me as we walked closer to the Communications Center.
"I'm not going to leave you, Ian." I warned standing my ground.
"Beth, please I want you to be safe." he said placing his hand on the small of my back and walking me there.
"Ian, no I want to stay with you." I pleaded.
"Beth, uh n-no. You know I can't do that." he said softly. He put both of his hand on the side of my face and held it as he talked.
"It would make me feel a whole lot better about the situation if I could just go with you to make sure you're fine." I begged.
"Beth, I refuse to let you go. I can't let you die. I don't know what I would do with myself if you were gone." he said with a worried tone in his voice.
"I'm not losing you again! Not like last time! Not ever again! I can't- I just can't-" I whimpered as I started to cry. It was more fear than anything that made me weak.
"I love you. I'm not letting you get hurt or die. Nick, take her." Ian instructed. I could hear the threats of the velociraptors in the forest surrounding the Center.
"Ian! Please don't !" I screamed, crying more. It hurt mentally more than anything.
Nick held my arms with one hand and my mouth shut with the other.
Tears stung my face, and my throat throbbed from yelling.
"Keep her safe for me!" Ian yelled to Nick.
"I will!" Nick hollered back.
Nick dragged me inside and sat me down. I cried even more and buried my face into my knees. Nick wrapped his arms around me to comfort me.
"He will be back." he said over and over again trying to keep me quiet. "Let's watch right through that window for him." Nick said pointing at a window in front of us.
"Kelly, let's sit with them." Sarah said walking inside with a scared Kelly.
Kelly sat down next to me and noticed I wasn't in the best mood.
"Why are you sad?" she asked.
I looked up and decided to lighten the mood.
"Well last time Dr. Malcolm tried to be the hero, he almost had his leg amputated. Remember the news?" I half heartedly laughed.
Kelly giggled and said "He will be okay. I bet he will come back alive."
"Thanks, Kelly." I smiled.
She smiled back and rested her head on my shoulder. Maybe I could convince Ian to have kids... if he makes it...
Nick and I watched through the window for what seemed like forever. I saw a dark shadow moving around in the night, but I just couldn't tell what it was. I squinted until I couldn't squint anymore.
It was Ian. And he was limping and trying to run. I got up and tried to run for him, but Nick grasped onto my arm. I bit the arm holding onto me, and ran to Ian for dear life.
Velociraptors were chasing him and he noticed me. He pointed up, frantically so I turned around to find a helicopter landing on the roof.
I ran towards Ian and helped him run faster. We ran into the building and Nick, Sarah, and Ian helped me get the doors shut and locked, safely away from the raptors. We ran up the stairs and onto the roofs helicopter pad.
Ian helped me into the helicopter and we all got in safely. The helicopter lifted into the air and we were finally leaving. When the helicopter became still I scooted closer to Ian and examined his leg.
"I uh just tripped." he chuckled as I ripped the hole in his pants bigger to see the wound better. It was a deep cut and it probably needed to be clean sooner or later. I found a First Aid Kit and got out the hydrogen peroxide, a rag, and some bandages.
"This is what you did for me last time. Before we were engaged." Ian smiled. I remember the night clearly, myself. Ian and I first started to acknowledge our love for each other.
I cleaned the wound and then sat on his lap. I wrapped my arms around his neck and rested my head on his chest. I was tired. Frightened. Worn out. Terrified. The nightmares were definitely going to pay more visits.
"What are they doing?" Sarah asked looking out the window.
"Taking it with us." Nick whispered.
"Taking what with us?" Ian asked.
"The Rex."
