Note: A thought on what is going on in the world right now (Apr, 2020)

=================

I closed my eyes to the world.

I imagined one where nothing is wrong.

I tried to.

I couldn't.

There was something so very foreign and fake

about imagining a world that left no chaos in its wake.

Even nature itself is always a battle, a struggle, a war,

as thunder claps, lightning flashes, and rain pours.

Even nature in its most innocent state,

has not a moment to rest or give itself a break.

The circle of life is always at play,

so, even the kindest of creatures must survive to stay

on top of the food chain if they are on top at all,

or be threatened by human to make a fall

into extinction...

Oh! Life is such a battle even in the world of those not human!

I closed my eyes to the world.

I imagined one where nothing is wrong.

I tried to.

I couldn't.

There was something so unsettling and strange,

to try to believe in a world without pain.

Even nature itself is all about survival of the fittest.

Even nature itself has battles between strong and weak.

Bullies exist in weeds, birds, insects, mammals, fish...

But humanity, yes, I can still wish

that us intelligent being know better than to make others suffer

so that we can rise to the top and be the only ones left.

No, I can still hope that we will throw our egos away for a moment,

to hold out a helping hand to those who are struggling

to lift themselves up from the ground for whatever reason.

I can still hope that even when I open my eyes,

I will see my wishes coming true,

in the hearts of me and you.

And everyone out there in this moment,

will not spare a selfish time anymore.

For we need each other

more so than we ever had before.

So even when suffering is crushing us to dust,

or that our own country is against us,

or that chaos is our new best friend,

we can still find comfort in each other.

Take my hand—a thought just across the sea.

Hear my voice—a connection through a computer screen.

Even if the world is in chaos or pain,

or our lives will never be the same,

close your eyes to the world

to connect.

"We" means "not alone".
