'You did what!' Y/n her friend screeched as y/n walked next to her 'y/n what were you thinking for fuck's sake!'.
'I'm sorry! I had to tell him!' Y/n said still sure about her point 'He and I are going to look into it!'
'I'm telling you this y/n.' Y/f/n sighs as she looked at her friend who didn't see what she was seeing 'You are expecting this whole adventure, what if it turns out that her soulmate died or something?'
Y/n now looked at her feet as she walked further with her friend 'Well I suppose I'll just have to ask her.'
'You are not going to do that!' Y/f/n grabbed y/n's wrist and showed it to y/n 'You just want something that will make sure you two are going to be close. You need to stop it, now! He and you need to get to know each other in a normal conversation, not while you are looking into someone!' She explained as y/n was now looking at her feet.
'He and I already got to get to know each other!' Y/n tried to explain to her friend as she appeared blind to the fact that this was something that y/n had to do.
But y/f/n raised her eyebrow and simply said 'Then what's his name?'. She knew very good that y/n's soulmate hadn't told her this. Y/n looked at her friend with true unbelief inside of her.
'Are you serious? You're making your point with that? You know very good that I have no idea why he didn't want to tell me his damn name!' She said with now tears forming in her eyes.
'Of course I know!' Her friend snapped 'But I also know that he is as good as a stranger to you! You should realize that y/n! As long as you don't know his name, he is a stranger.'
A tear was now faling down y/n her cheek as she couldn't believe that this girl right in front of her was her friend. 'I suspect you and your soulmate aren't strangers to each other?'
'You are right.' Y/f/n told her 'Mine is called Robert. He lives just a few streets away from me. I'm seeing him after school. Actually we're going to ride home together. You'll have to ride alone.'
Y/n rolled her eyes annoyed and simply responded 'Well have fun.'. She fastened her walk and went straight for the classroom.
Ignoring all glances of the other students y/n stood there waiting for the teacher to arrive. Just then it hit her, the test. She was supposed to have studied.
Which she didn't.
'I didn't expect you to be first in line to come in miss y/l/n.' Y/n heard a voice speak up to her.
Looking down so her teacher wouldn't see the tears now streaming from her cheeks y/n replied 'I couldn't wait.'
'Oh child.' The woman said 'Are you crying?'
Not even trying to hide it anymore y/n looked up. Feeling completely beaten she didn't mind for another person to see. 'Yes.'
Her teacher looked at y/n's wet face and y/n saw something that she hadn't expected to ever see in her teacher's eyes. Worry.
'The class doesn't start for another ten minutes.' Her teacher said as she gave her crying student a small smile which also shocked y/n. 'Come inside.'
The air conditioning hadn't worked very well because the the heat was killing. The summer holidays were to start in just a bit more than a month and the temperatures were very high.
'What's wrong?' Her teacher's voice had shaken y/n out of her thoughts and she looked up at her teacher who was sitting right in front of her on a student's chair.
Y/n realized that she could not tell the truth. Even if she could she wouldn't have done it. The way this woman treated her yesterday, no, she could never actually open up to her.
If she would tell the whole truth, y/n would be saying that the whole fight started about the teacher herself. About finding out her soulmate's background. Then the question y/n had to ask her teacher came into her head as she thought about the fight again. She had to ask her if her soulmate had died. She just had to come to the point where it wouldn't sound so weird to ask.
So y/n decided to reply with 'A friend of mine and I had a fight a few minutes ago, about my soulmate.'
'I suppose it was y/f/n?' Her teacher looked sure about what she just had said as if she didn't even need an answer from y/n.
'Yes.' Y/n answered as she wiped away some fresh tears 'How would you know miss?'
Taken aback by the mention of her friend's name and how her teacher's had known this, y/n now looked with a curious expression at her teacher.Just like she had done yesterday.
Her teacher had rarely seen her and her friend in the breaks since she was always in her classrooms, making sure everything was ready for the next class.
It could easily have been because other teachers talked about y/n and her friend, but yet again, they both have always been very good students in most subjects and always tried to stay out of trouble.
Y/n could not believe that this woman would listen to other teachers talking about how good students they actually were since she most certainly could not stand y/n.
The woman herself was looking for words to explain how she gotten the answer right immediately, like she was searching for an excuse which was making y/n more attentively.
'I uhm, well I just guessed since I have seen you ride your bike home with her one day.' Not very convinced y/n decided not to think much about it.
She had to get an answer to her question and as quickly as possible since the lesson was starting in just a few minutes.
'But soulmates..' Her teacher started again 'Oh yes soulmates can be so easy to get frustrated on. I don't exactly believe in them as I told you yesterday but what was the fight about?'
'Well she says that mine is a complete stranger to me.' Y/n sighed looking down again.
'You've just gotten your first words, I'm sure you don't know much about him just yet. That's normal.'
This sentence caused y/n to look up very quick. She had remembered?
'I guess so..' Y/n almost said in a whisper as she now was looking at her teacher in complete confusion. She would never have expected her to remember about her first words.
'Why does she think that your soulmate is a stranger to you? It must have been something big because i don't think you'd fight about something small.' Her teacher asked her.
'He won't tell me his name and that's what makes her think that.' Y/n looked down as she felt new tears ready too come out.
'Soulmates can be very mysterious and sometimes don't want to share everything. I understand that, it indeed is weird to be born with someone who you have to marry and love. A person which you aren't allowed to choose.'
The way her teacher had said all of this made the curiosity about her teacher's soulmate come back immediately. Y/n looked at her teacher, feeling like this would be the perfect moment to try and ask her.
'Miss, you don't believe in this whole soulmate thing right?' Y/n asked her teacher, not letting her eyes leave the woman sitting in front of her in the very hot classroom, not wanting to miss even one detail of how her teacher would react.
'No I don't.' Her teacher had answered quickly. She clearly was uncomfortable talking about this as she started to move a bit on the small chair.
'Has yours died? If I may ask.' Y/n went for it.
Her teacher gave a small chuckle and looked at y/n 'No mine didn't. Now I don't like to talk about mine.'
Y/n was at the point of asking 'Why is that?' But before she could the bell rang and other students were ready to start the lesson.
'Will you be able to make the test?' Her teacher asked. Y/n could not believe what she just had heard. Yesterday this woman had been so mad at her for just day dreaming in her lesson. She had even given this test for y/n to fail which she now asked if y/n would be able to make it?
It all felt so weird.
