The Seven At Hogwarts (BTS // Harry Potter AU)

Well.

As we step into the opposite carriage, I am greeted by a much calmer scene than my first impression of the other side. There are four boys all immersed in deep conversation, and a certain serenity carries throughout the space as they talk. Only one boy notices our arrival, and gives us a warm smile. As he does so, my theory about the fact that only people that look like gods are allowed in Hogwarts is strongly reaffirmed, because his skin? Flawless. His lips? Perfectly smooth. His hair? Well nourished. Shoulders? Broad and strong. Jawline? Also perfect. Smile? Pure and beautiful. The list goes on. Honestly it shouldn't surprise me at this point.
"Guys, we've got some company." He says in a smooth voice.
The others look up, and like my other experiences on this train so far, they are so hot. I avert my gaze, and try to act naturally. Luckily before I have to do anything, Jungkook does it for me.

"Hyungs! This is Ashlyn." He takes a deep breath... and then explodes.
"She's-taking-the-ride-in-our-carriage-because-she's-only-just-joined-the-school-meaning-she-didn't-have-anyone-to-sit-with-that's-because-her-parents-forced-her-to-continue-to-attend-a-muggle-school-once-she-got-her-Hogwarts-letter-and -banned-her-from-even-speaking-of-magic-ever-again-so-she's-not-allowed-to-be-here-but-she-got-a-ride-from-the-midnight-bus-but-she-was-late-here-while-she-was-looking-for-somewhere-to-sit-Taehyung-found-her-and-brought-her-to-our-carriage-she-told-us-her-story-and-we-discovered-she-knows-nothing-about-wizardry-pop-culture-so-Namjoon-can-you-tell-her-what-she-needs-to-know-before-we-get-to-Hogwarts?" He says in a quick blur. The familiar wave of confusion I received from the other carriage returns, but with a lot more trying to comprehend what Jungkook just said.

"...How do you still have breath?" Jimin asks, giving him a look of utter confusion. After a moment of silence, a boy with black hair on the left speaks. "Just lay it on thick, why don't you Jungkook?" Jungkook shrugs.
"Might as well just get that bit over with." He responds. The boy next to him laughs and shakes his head, showing dimples while doing so.
"...I think introductions are definitely in order." He says before standing up to shake my hand.
"I'm Namjoon. Don't worry about the fact that you don't know much, we have time." he finishes with a nod.
"Something worth noting is he's a teachers pet so if you need bailing out of a situation he's your guy." The boy with black hair adds.
"Hey, it wasn't my idea to start taking advantage of the fact that I'm a prefect!" He retorts.
"Yoongi, by the way." The black haired boy says with a quick wave.
"Hoseok, you haven't said anything yet, which is rare for you, you're usually the first to chip in a conversation." Taehyung says to the boy on the right with light brown hair.
"...Just processing." He says with a smile, before looking at me. He smiles, and I instantly smile back, because he has one of those infectious grins. "I'm Hoseok, as you just discovered from Taehyung. Pleasure to meet you... I'm sorry you couldn't come here sooner." He finishes, his grin changing to a more sympathetic smile.
"Well, I'm determined to make the most of every second." I respond. I look at the person sitting beside him, the last one to introduce himself.
"Hello, I'm Jin." He says simply. I wave quickly, before speaking to the whole carriage.

"So, where should we start?" I ask.
"Well first of all, you four come sit down." Namjoon says. Jungkook sits next to Namjoon, and I sit next to Jin. I quickly realise that there's no space left for Jimin and Taehyung to sit down, but they just shrug and go to sit underneath the window on the floor. Namjoon leans forward, and rests his head in his hand.

"Okay so first off, how much do you know about Hogwarts itself?" He asks me.
"Quite a lot, I've read Hogwarts: A History so I'm good on that front."
"So you know houses and all that kind of stuff?"
"Yup." He nods.
"Okay that's a good start. You've probably already noticed what houses we are all in then, but I'll reconfirm just in case. I'm a Ravenclaw. Jungkook's a Griffyndo-"
"Rawr." Jungkook says, before giggling to himself. Namjoon just sighs.
"Hoseok is a Hufflepuff, Jimin is a Slytherin, Jin is a Gryffindor, Taehyung is a Hufflepuff and Yoongi is a Slytherin."
"I keep wondering what house you're gonna be in." Taehyung says to me.
"My bet's on Ravenclaw. You seem pretty smart." He adds with a smile.
"Hm. I think Gryffindor." Jin says.
"Gryffindor? No way, she's a Hufflepuff." Jimin says.
"..I mean you'd make a decent Slytherin, but you're slightly too nice and obviously you're parents, so there's no way," Yoongi says, "I think that Hufflepuff might be the one." I shrug.
"Well, we'll soon see." I say. "Honestly I'd be happy with any house." I add.
"Yeah, I can see you fitting into any." Namjoon comments.
"Okay back to pop culture. I would give you a History lesson right now, but I think everyone would fall asleep, so wait one sec." Namjoon stands up, and reaches for his suitcase. He pulls out a book and hands it to me.
"A History Of Magic, The Updated Version. Should be everything you need to know."
"Thank you, I really appreciate it. I'll take good care of it. When should I give it back?" He shook his head.
"Keep it."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I have a another copy so don't worry about it."
"Okay, I'll give this a read once I get back into the other carriage." I say.

"How's your quidditch knowledge?"
"..Limited."
"Okay, all you need to know is that the Chudley Canons are the best team and that's the end of that."
"No way, the Appleby Arrows!" Jimin exclaims. I hold out my hands.
"Okay this could turn into war very quickly, so I'm just going to stop you there."
"If you manage to get into a situation talking about quidditch, just mention Viktor Crum and people will start talking for you."
"Oh my god Viktor Crum, what an absolute legend." Hoseok says.
"Did you see the feign attack he pulled last season? Absolutely phenomenal." Jungkook chimes in.
"...Like so." Namjoon says. I giggle.
We spend a bit longer talking about different elements of the wizarding world, then me, Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook head back to our carriage, where I spend the rest of the journey reading the book.

Currently, I'm leaning against the cold wall of the Great Hall, waiting with anticipation as the Sorting Hat sorts the first years. I think McGonagall can sense my nerves, as she has a reassuring hand on my shoulder.
Once all the first years have been sorted to their respectful houses, McGonogall takes her hand off my shoulder and reads out my name.

"Ashlyn Rose!"

My hands are sweaty and I suddenly feel nauseous. I make my way to the front, and cautiously sit down. The sorting hat is plonked onto my head. I wait in anticipation. I have no idea what house I'm going to be sorted in, but at least, like Yoongi said, I know one house that is out of the question. But the rest is a mystery.
"Hmm.. quite an all rounder I see. Where do I put you?" It's quite odd hearing it talk about you so openly in a room of people.
"Quite odd, is it?"
Okay, time to stop thinking.
"This is tricky. So many- wait a second. I know exactly what to do with you..."
Here it comes...

"SLYTHERIN!"

My eyes widen in shock, and I look down to see Jungkook choking on his orange juice from surprise. I get up and walk over to the Slytherin table, where Jimin and Yoongi are looking at me with utter disbelief. I sit down between them and rest my head in my hands.

"...Well."
"Well." Yoongi says.
"Well." Jimin says.
