"Mine." A low voice grumbled from behind her. She froze, she couldn't even turn around. The authority in his voice was clear. In a second all the yellow eyes disappeared. She was alone again, but still frozen in her spot. The sound of footsteps coming out of the woods sent shivers down her spine. He was here.
"Turn around." The voice was deep and husky, she could sense no emotion there. Slowly she began to turn around and when her eyes met his it was like everything stopped. Her body became numb and all that mattered in the moment was him. His large blue eyes set her in a trance; they were glowing and magical, but dark and mysterious all at once. They were like perfect sapphires staring back at her. His tanned skin and dark hair were perfect and flawless. His chest moved heavy with the deep breaths he was taking. A white shirt covered his toned chest and arms, hugging him perfectly, not too tight but just enough to show muscular figure. They stood for a while just staring at each other. His eyes went from her bare feet all the way up to the top of her head taking in every inch of her, but his face told no signs of his intentions or emotions. Neither of them knew what to do, but both knew what they wanted to do.
"What's your name?" He spoke first, his voice was gentle but stern. Clara struggle to find the words to introduce herself.
"Clara." She didn't bother saying anything else, her mouth wouldn't form any other words. The man began to take slow steps towards her until the were only a few steps from each other. The energy trying to pull them closer together was almost impossible to restrain from but neither of them gave in.
"Clara." He repeated, the way her name rolled off his tongue was like music to her ears, her knees almost gave way beneath her which would have sent her tumbling to the floor but she held her ground and stood as straight as she could.
"I like that. I'm Drew, Drew Jefferson. Are you nervous?" A small smirk spread across his lips as he looked at Clara intently, she didn't know what to say or do. She nodded her head and looked down to the floor, embarrassed by how he made her feel giddy with every word he said. Drew closed the gap between them and placed a finger up her chin lifting it so she was face to face with him. He towered over her, almost a foot taller than her. The instant spark of electricity that shot through her skin at the small contact took her breath away. How could he make her feel so weak with just a simple touch?"What happens now?" Clara spoke, her voice weak to the point where it was practically a whisper. Drew smiled and dropped his hand, he motioned to the spread her family and prepared and a small deep laugh escaped his lips.
"Well... I'm not sure I've not done this before, but I'm assuming we spend a bit of time here getting to know each enjoying, the food and wine your family kindly provided. Then, I guess, you will come home with me." Another smirk touched his lips as he said the last part and his eyebrow raised slightly as he looked out of the corner of his eye at Clara. She watched as he sat down on the blanket and reached for the basket. He looked up at her and raised an eyebrow.
"You going to join me?" Clara felt the heat in her cheeks from embarrassment, she nodded her head and sat down with Drew. A million new thoughts were running through her head. Was this a joke? How did I get so lucky? He was gorgeous! What was he like? What is his favourite colour? Does he like ketchup on his chips or mayo? Is he the type to sing in the shower or does he just get the job done?
"Would you like some wine?" She said as she reached for the bottle of red that her Mother had put in there. She could really do with a drink to settle her nerves. He placed a hand on the bottle and smiled.
"Allow me. Tell me about you... I want to know everything." Drew proceeded to uncork the wine and pour them both a small glass, Clara smiled and a small giggle came escaped her lips.
