"Do you think she will have the chance to gain back her memories?" Junhoe asked, fidgeting with his finger.
He's afraid that she will never remember her. But, half of him wants her not to remember the day that they fought. He's afraid that he will lose her. Their friendship.
"Be positive, Junhoe" Jinhwan replied, taking a seat next to his cousin and gave a comforting hug.
"Excuse me," the doctor said, finally getting out the room after a few hours of testing.
They immediately stood up from their seat and surrounding him, "how's the test?" Hanbin asked while fidgeting with his fingers.
"It was good so far but..." He paused for a moment and looked at them one by one. "But?"
"There's no chance for her to remember the memory that was lost. It was a severe damage that was cause by the hit. The moment she woke up, it was miracle. It was miracle that she can still remember seventy-five percent of her memories. I know that I was wrong saying she might remember the memory that was lost without making a test. But now, we are hundred percent sure that she will not gain her memory anymore. I'm sorry" he said looking at them with apologetic look.
"But she'll live like a normal person right? There's no wrong with her. Mentally?"
"There's no wrong with her. But, she might ask you some questions. She's really curious with you and unlike before you can already tell her about you" the doctor said before bidding them a goodbye.
<Hayoon's POV>
"You can't gain your memories anymore. We're sorry"
"It means I can't know about my so-called best friend? I'm really curious about him" I said looking at the window.
I can't accept it.
I can't accept the fact that I can't remember him anymore. I know from the start that he was special to me in my past. He was so so familiar when I first saw him when I woke up. The way he held me up, the way he touched me, the way he calmed me and the way he looked at me. All of them felt so familiar and I want to remember him.
"We'll leave you first" he said, walking towards the door leaving me alone in my room.
Was he the one in my dreams?
Was he the boy in my blurry memories? I want to know.
"Hayoon," I was snapped in my thoughts when I heard my brother calls me. I looked at him and smiled sadly. I saw in my peripheral vision that he was looking at me.
I can't read his expression. Sad? Hurt?
I bit my lips as tears started to form in my eyes. Jinan and Hanbin oppa went to me and hugged me tightly.
"Why? Why cant I gain my memories back? Why?!" I sobbed hardly, burying my head in my brother's neck and holding into Jinan oppa's hand tightly.
"Shhh, calm down. You may not gain your memories back but you can have and always make new memories. Your memories is the only who lost not your best friend. He's always here with you" Hanbin oppa said, caressing my back.
"You're brother is right. And besides, we are always here to answer all of your questions. We will help you with everything" Jinan oppa added and let go of my hands, smiling at me.
"Thank you oppas" they smiled at me and looked at the boy in front of us, with tears already fell on his eyes too.
"We'll leave you two first"
He smiled walking towards me, "stop crying" he whispered and wiped my tears.
"I'm sorry Yoon, I should be the one to blame. If it is not me, you are not here" I looked at him confused.
It's his fault that I got into the accident? How?
"A month before you got into an accident, we have a misunderstanding. We didn't talk to each other. We didn't do the things that we used to. We kept on ignoring each other. Then, after a month, hyungs forced us to talk. You run away from me then I chased you. I begged a forgiveness but you just ignore me and I understand that because it's my fault in the first place. You managed to get out of my grip and run to the road then you got hit by the car..."
"Hayoon!" He chase her until they reached outside the mall.
"Hayoon" Junhoe back hugged her and buried his head on her neck. "Why? Why are you avoiding me?" He asked, sadness is visible on his voice.
Hayoon tried to let go out of his grip, but he was much more stronger then her so it was no use. "No reason. Now, let me go"
"I will not let you go. Please tell me what can I do for you to be not mad at me? Please tell me I'm willing to do everything for you" he said desperately and he loosen his grip around but still holding her.
"What can you do? Leave me alone, don't talk to me and most of all don't approach me anymore" Junhoe hold her hand and make her face-to-face with him.
"I will not do it. You told me that we're not going to change. What happened now?" He tried to hold his tears as he said those words.
"You can't do it? Then, let me go now. I'm so done with you. Don't annoy me and make me hate you forever"
"No, I'm begging you don't do this please. Hayoon, I love you. Please" they started to get everyone's attention when Junhoe kneeled down still holding her hands and his tears finally flow.
Hayoon finally get out of his grip and run away from him. She crossed the road not noticing the coming vehicle.
"Hayoon!"
Junhoe widened his eyes and try to save her but, it is now too late as the vehicle hit her. "No!"
I shake my head getting back on my senses.
Why did that suddenly appear in my mind? I thought I can no longer remember anything.
"No it's my fault, If I only choose to listen and forgive you, it will not all happen" I reached for his hands and held it.
He's crying so hard right now. I pity him.
"By the way, the doctor said that it's not dangerous anymore for me to ask some questions about you and some of my past right?" He looked up at me as I asked. He nodded.
"Then helped me, I would like to know more about you..."
