She did light makeup and straightened her hair. She then went over to Scorpius's room and saw him still sleeping. Since it was early, she didn't want to wake up, so she packed his tooth brush and some clothes into a bag and carefully picked him up. She went downstairs and grabbed her purse and wand before apparating them to Malfoy Manor. Luckily, Scorpius was a deep sleeper and didn't wake up. She knocked on the door and Narcissa happily welcomed them in. Hermione carried Scorpius up to his room at the Manor.
"Thank you so much, Cissy," Hermione spoke as she came back down.
"It's no problem, Hermione, but I'm just curious, why couldn't you take him to the Burrow?" Narcissa asked.
"Oh, Scorpius and Ron Don't get along too well, besides, he loves it here with you," Hermione answered.
"He does keep me company. It's nice to have someone around to talk to," Narcissa said.
"Well if you like we can stop by more," Hermione said.
"Oh, I don't want to be a bother," Narcissa said.
"It's no bother. We love you, you know," Hermione said.
"Oh, that's so sweet of you. I love you both too," Narcissa smiled.
"Ok, well I'll see you later, Narcissa," Hermione smiled before leaving. She apparated outside the gates of Malfoy Manor to the ministry of magic. She walked in to her department and smiled at her co-workers. She sat behind her desk and dove straight into work.
It had been almost 5 hours since she got to work and she has been nonstop working. She was exhausted and hungry, but she was too busy to stop and get food. She had finished a pile of cases and rang for her secretary, Pansy.
"Pansy, can you come get these cases and file them?" Hermione asked.
"Sure, and Blaise is here to see you," She spoke over the phone.
"What's he want?" Hermione asked.
"He's brought you food," Pansy answered.
"Send him in," Hermione said.
"You know this is never going to stop being weird; me being your assistant," Pansy mumbled.
"Secretary," Hermione corrected through a laugh.
"Whatever," Pansy spoke before hanging up. She came in seconds later with Blaise walking in behind her. She took the cases before walking back out of the room.
"What's up, Blaise?" Hermione asked. "I thought you were meant to be back in Spain with Astoria.
"I was. I brought lunch and coffee," he said as he sat in one of the chairs in front of her desk.
"Thanks," Hermione smiled as he handed her an ice coffee and a sandwich. "Any particular reason why?" He let out a sigh.
"Your son owled me," he spoke. "He's worried about you not eating or sleeping. I apparated back to England as soon as I got it this morning."
"Not you too," Hermione groaned. "He's already told Ginny."
"I'm sure he's just worried about you," Blaise defended. "He said it was about..." he started before whispering, "Draco."
"I'm fine," Hermione said for the hundredth time.
"Mione, I know you're not, and it's ok to not be fine," he said. "I'm always here for you. Especially if you want to talk about what happened."
"Thank you, Blaise, but I don't want to talk about it. Like I told Ginny, there's nothing to talk about," she said. "He made his choice, what's done is done, and I have to accept that one way or another."
"As long as you're happy, Mione," he said. She smiled at him.
"Well thank you for bringing me lunch and everything, Blaise, but I need to be getting back to work now," she said. He shook his head making her look at him confused.
"I'm not leaving until you finish your sandwich," he stated as he started to eat his own sandwich. She looked down at her untouched sandwich and sighed. She took the plastic off and began to eat as they continued a different conversation.
"No, I don't think so. She went out shopping before I left," he said.
"Your wife doesn't know you've left the country?" Hermione asked shocked.
"I'll be back before she comes home," he assured.
"You're an idiot. You're gonna be in so much trouble if she finds out," Hermione pointed out.
"Well she won't find out," Blaise said, "right?"
"You're asking me to lie to her now?" Hermione asked shocked.
"It's not lying, it's just not telling her," Blaise reworded.
"So now we're keeping a secret from her," Hermione said.
"It's a small one compared to the one we're already keeping," Blaise said making Hermione roll her eyes.
"You're a dead man," Hermione mumbled as she shook her head. "Or at least you'll wish you were one if she finds out."
"Just shut up and eat," he said making her laugh.
Once she had finished eating he stood up to leave. She walked him to the door to say a finally goodbye. "If you ever need anything, just call or owl me," he said. "Always here for you."
"Thank you, Blaise, I will keep that in mind," she smiled. "And thank you again for lunch."
"It was no problem," he smiled before hugging her.
"Are you sure you'll be okay?" He asked.
"I'll be fine. Now go, Astoria will be wondering where you are," Hermione laughed.
"You're right," he sighed.
"Say hi to her for me," she said. He smiled and nodded.
"Bye, Hermione," he said before turning to Pansy, who was sitting behind her desk, "bye, Pansy."
"Bye, Blaise," she hummed. He then turned and left. Hermione let out a sigh before turning and going back to work. After work she said bye to Pansy and apparated back to Malfoy Manor to pick up Scorpius.
"Hi, mum!" Scorpius spoke enthusiastically when he saw her.
"Hey, squirt, ready to go?" Hermione asked.
"Yup, just let me got get my bag," he said before running upstairs.
"Thank you again for watching him," Hermione said to Narcissa.
"Like I said this morning, it's no problem," she smiled. "Same time tomorrow?"
"Yes, thank you," Hermione smiled. Scorpius came back downstairs with his bag and they said their byes to Narcissa before apparating back home.
