Sorry for the wait <3That night Hermione couldn't sleep. She rolled around in her bed thinking about Draco. About how much she wished she could just feel his lips on hers again or his arms wrapped around her. She missed him so much. Their conversation from earlier had played 5 times over in her head. She also was thinking about what she was going to tell Scorpius.
It was 2 in the morning now and Hermione hadn't gotten a wink of sleep. She got out of bed and threw on some clothes before quietly going down the spiral staircase and out the door. She walked in the foggy, dewy air down to the bar and banged on the door. After a couple of minutes she heard footsteps coming down stairs from inside. As he made his way towards the door angrily, he saw Hermione standing outside and his attitude softened and he opened the door. "Hermione what are you-" before he could finish Hermione grabbed his face and pulled him down to crash her lips on his in a passionate kiss. He instantly melted into the kiss and wrapped his arms around her body, pulling her into him.
The kiss. It was their first kiss. The first kiss since he had left. The first kiss since she had his son. The first kiss since she had seen him again. Their first kiss in 4 years. 4 long, damned, cursed, years.
In all honesty, Hermione didn't know why she had gotten out of bed in the middle of the tight to charge across town and kiss him without explanation. It just felt right. Like that's what she should've done when she saw him earlier. Of course she was still angry at him. She hated him for leaving. She hated him for abandoning her. Abandoning them. But as much as she hated him, she loved him so much more. Even after all these years, she loved him. She clung to the idea of him being alive like her life depended on it. Because she missed him.
And she still does.
Hermione deepened the kiss, before pulling away. She let go of his face as he reluctantly let go of her waist. "That's all I came to do," she breathed and turned on her heals and walked away leaving him completely awe struck and staring after her. When she got back to bed she fell soundly asleep, like a weight had been lifted off her shoulder. It was the best night of sleep she's had in forever.
The next morning when Hermione came downstairs, Scorpius and Rose were sitting on the counter giggling. Hermione sat down behind the counter and saw her ring on a string around Rose's neck. "Rose, honey, where'd you get that ring?"
"Scorpius gave it to me," she said proudly. Hermione raised an eyebrow at Scorpius.
"You took it off, I thought you didn't want it anymore," he said innocently.
"Rose can I have it back please?" Hermione asked nicely as Rose pouted and took it off.
"Mum!" Scorpius complained.
"You'll get it back when you're 16 and you can give it back to Rose," Hermione said as they both pouted making her roll her eyes, "but for now you can go buy Rose a different ring, one that'll fit her fingers this time." Hermione gave him $20 and he smiled and jumped off the counter with Rose.
Sue went with them to the toy store and Scorpius got Rose a pretty $10 ring and used the rest of the money to buy her candy. "Thanks, Scorpius," Rose smiled and give him a kiss on the cheek making his face go red.
"You're welcome," he mumbled before she dragged him out of the store. They walked back in the book shop and were messing around and giggling in the front when someone else came in.
"Hi, Drake!" Rose smiled at Draco.
"Hey, Rose," he smiled back before he looked at Scorpius. Scorpius stopped dead in his tracks as he stared up at the man. He had seen him in photographs in Grandma Narcissa's photo album. He gulped before turning and running through the bookshelves.
