GABRIEL WAS GONE when I awoke, leaving me baffled. Why would he leave just like that, without even saying goodbye? I felt a tiny sting in my chest at that thought. I couldn't help but feel a slight twinge of betrayal at this action.

I sighed, running my fingers through my bed hair to untangle the knots. It wasn't like I could really get angry at him for that. It was his decision if he wanted to stay and if he didn't want to, who was I to object?

A sharp cry of pain escaped my lips when my head started throbbing, reminding me of my own nightly adventure to the bar for a bottle of liquor.

That became two in a short amount of time.

Groaning and cussing at the aching, I stumbled to the kitchen to grab some aspirin and water for my head.

Quickly popping the pill into my mouth, I didn't hesitate to accompany it with water shortly after. I swallowed thickly as it ran down my throat.

I then refilled my bottle of water before tossing it into my bag to bring along to school. I rummaged through my fridge for a simple meal to eat for breakfast and ended up settling for a packet of Cheetos that I could devour on my way there.

School felt too overwhelming for my throbbing head. Now I stood at my locker, my fingers clenching the metal door tightly, trying to hold myself up and keep my legs from failing me.

My eyes darted around the hallway, desperately searching for someone.

Gabriel.

I couldn't find him though, no matter how hard I searched. I couldn't help me but feel upset.

After our somewhat intimate cuddling last time, I just couldn't get it off my mind. The feeling of his taut muscles pressing against my back, his arms wrapped around my waist as his calloused fingers skimmed my arm, were all embedded deep into my memories.

And greedily enough, I craved for more. I wanted his presence by my side every night to chase away my demons or just to give me a sense of comfort that he was with me throughout our dreamland escapade.

Oh my gosh, my crush was growing too deep.

"Hey Kaylee! Had a long night?" I nearly jumped out of my skin at the sound of Sophie's shrill voice. She was stood leaning against then locker beside mine, watching with crossed arms as I struggled to stand on my two legs. It was a wonder how I had even managed to walk around on the two wobbly sticks.

"Oh hey," I greeted with a crooked little grin, forcing myself to not lean on the locker door for support.

A suggestive grin quirked at her lips. "So, I see that you're limping a little," she said, casting her eyes down to my legs. My body attempted to straightened that I stood balanced on two legs instead. "I wonder what activities you were up to last night."

I groaned, my cheeks flaring. I placed my palms on them to hide the redness while casting a glare at Sophie, who was laughing at my demise.

"That was so not funny," I deadpanned, huffing haughtily at her.

Laughter continued rolling from her tongue. "It so was, with the look on your face! Wait, don't tell me you're a virgin?" she paused for my reply, staring at me with curious eyes.

"I am," I admitted shyly.

She gasped dramatically, slapping her hand to her mouth. "You can't be serious! You're fucking seventeen, Kaylee, even I've lost my virginity!"
