-- Is It Worth It? --
Snape's POV
"Albus, why was Miss Burns here?", he asked out of curiosity and mentally regretted it.
"Well Severus.. last year she gifted me some muggle candies and I wanted to thank her for it.", he sits down on his chair.
"Really? After a year you've decided to thank her?", I replied mockingly.
"There, there Severus. If you're that curious why don't you ask (Y/N)?", his blue orbs twinkling like stars from excitement.
"Now you're addressing her by her first name, interesting. Nevertheless forget the question, clearly I am not interested on a mere student.", accepting the defeat.
After that, I walked up to his desk and asked what are his plans for Potter and Malfoy. Obviously, there's none and what did I even expect from him, he just likes to go with the flow of the events that are unfolding in front of us. I can't take this any longer, but when I think of leaving everything behind, Lily's face pops up in my mind.
"Lily..", I unconsciously speak.
"Ah.. Lily, she was an excellent student.", Dumbledore stares at me with mystery.
"Yes, she was.", I coldly replied.
"Besides the two boys, are there anything else you wanted to discuss with me?", he stands up.
"Yes, I assume that you've heard the news?", I slammed the newspaper that was hidden inside my cloak to the desk.
"Ah yes. Sirius Black, it is sad that he landed on such a terrible faith.", he glances at the moving picture.
"He deserves it! After all it is he who told the whereabouts of the Potters.", I snarled.
"Now, now Severus... we cannot also take a grudge on everyone who've hurt us. It is not only us who has suffered after that unfortunate event.", lecturing me like a father.
It was indeed true that Sirius Black has suffered, locked in Azkaban for 12 years. But it is not enough! Because of him I lost the only person whom I loved and because of him I have to look after her child, it makes me gag when I see that Potter boy. He looks so much like James, but with Lily's beautiful green eyes. I can still remember how her eyes lit up on simple and small things, like when I showed her that I can use magic too.
"How is Remus doing?", he asks.
"I already gave him a month supply of Wolf's bane potion and I think that's enough for me. I'm already babysitting two dunderhead, babysitting another one, let alone a WOLF. I'd prefer to be dead than doing that.", I completely snapped.
There was a long pause of silence in the room, it irritates me. I bid my farewell and walked out of his office. The earlier topics got stuck in my mind, the thought of Lily pondered through.
"If you weren't with James, you're still alive.", I sighed.
As I was walking through the empty hallway, I noticed a dim light at the right corner of my eye. What's this? I thought Filch has finished his rounds. I quietly walk towards the light and see a small figure, seems to be a female student. Great. I was about to turn her around to face me but when the moonlight hits the small figure, I saw a her. She reminds me of Lily, pure, innocent, loving and caring. (Y/N)'s hair looks so soft, her eyes are absolutely beautiful tonight, and--
'Snap out of it you fool! Remember she is your student, you're older than her and remember what you've promise. After Lily's death you will never love someone again!' I mentally smacked my forehead for thinking such things like that.
I cleared my throat and told her to go back to her dormitory. Normally, I already taken some points off her house but when it comes to her, I don't. She is a Slytherin of course but it's more than that and it scares me. I should kill the flame while it's still small.
