-- Life's Unfair --
YOUR POV
A slightly tap from the window awakens me, I see a grey to white owl that is tapping the window so I let him in. There's a letter tied to one of its leg and I untied the letter from it then I placed it under my pillow and gave him some treats then he flew out of the window. Glancing at the clock, I've noticed that I'm a few minutes late for breakfast so I hurried up and ran to the dinning hall. A huge crowd of students are coming inside too, so I decided to blend in. I saw the trio and made a small wave at them before sitting at the very edge part of the chair at our house table, avoiding any of my housemates so I can be alone. The headmaster made his usual speech and make the food appear after it, this doesn't fail to amaze me, well I've tried muggle food before and honestly they have more flavor in it but I can't complain since the food here at Hogwarts are extraordinary and I might add delicious too!
I was about to scoop some mashed potatoes when I saw a tall figure walking towards my direction, it was blonde boy who has a smirk on his face. 'Great. it's Malfoy.'
"I see that you're enjoying your dinner Burns?", he smirks at me.
I completely ignored him, not wanting any attention. I still don't get where he can get that confidence to tease and bully one of his seniors. I mean I'm older than him but the guts of this boy!
"Didn't your parents teach you to look at someone who's talking to you?", he snarled.
"What is it that I can help you with Draco?", I replied coolly.
"So I've heard a lot of rumors around school. What is it like having an awful excuse of a father? Trying to get his way up to somewhere he doesn't even belong to.", he asks as his friends Crabbe and Goyle chuckled.
"Absolutely wonderful. Well what about you? What is it like having to cry and run to your coward father when you can't have what you want?", I replied back focusing on my food.
"How dare you to speak ill of my father?!", he slams his hand near my plate almost causing my food to splatter.
I sighed heavily and decided to ignore him, but obviously it displeased the blonde boy so he decided to say something out loud so everyone can here.
"I've heard that you're a good punching bag for your father when your whore of a mother isn't around. Also you're older brother used to hex you a lot and when I've met him he also said that you're just like your mother, loves to crave for a male's attention. Obviously he hears you every night moaning, pathetic what a--", I cut him off furiously standing up causing the table to move a few inches away from me.
My eye colors are now black, trying to stop the darkness to swallow me. I can ignore others teasing me and spreading rumors and calling me names, but I can't ignore someone claiming that I am doing and acting like what I really am not! Not caring about the stares at me, my hand swiftly landed on Draco Malfoy's cheek leaving a bright red mark in a shape of my hand.
"Shut up! Shut up! You don't know me. None of you do!", I gave a very deadly glare at everyone including Malfoy who is now speechless.
Realizing what I have done, I quickly rush outside the dining, don't know where I really want to go. Ignoring the person who was calling me. My feet dragged me towards the Black Lake and I try to catch my breath, both of my knees feel like jelly and slowly collapsed onto the green wet grass near a tree. Spending most of my hour there, realizing that I've skipped classes and now the sun have been replaced.
"W-what have I done?", looking at the lake that was illuminated by the moon.
Seeing my reflection, my black orbs are now showing a hint of bright blue indicating the pain and sadness that I am feeling. Not knowing that someone has found me, then there was a deep velvet voice that spoke behind me.
"And what are you doing here Miss Burns?", he looks at me with a bored facial expression.
"P-Professor Snape! I-I uh.. well-", I was cut off by him grabbing tightly on my wrist.
I winced because of his grip, he really have some strength. He closed the large gap between us leaving a few inches away from my face. I unconsciously start to stare at his dark obsidian orbs then my eyes is slowly scanning his face, the structure of his large hooked nose, his thin lips that looks soft and kissable. The moonlight hits his face and I can't believe my eyes, Snape's facial expression shows of him worried and concerned about me. But it was just for a few seconds, now it's back to the old infamous expression of his. Wishing Snape haven't noticed the color shift of my eyes.
"U-Umm Professor?", I tried to break the silence between us.
"Miss Burns may I suggest you to avoid making a scene again in the future?", he releases my wrist.
"But sir, Malfoy started it.", I softly said while looking down.
"I don't care who started it! You're obviously older than him but you act as if you're a child!", he spat.
"Might I add, on how ridiculous of you to slap one of your housemates! I am very disappointed that was sorted at my house.", he said looking at me with an intense stare.
Surely he didn't mean that, right? I repeated to myself that he was just stressed on my behavior but then again, does he mean it? I can't stop thinking about his words. Staring continuously at the wet grass, trying not to let a tear shed. Why does this hurt more than what that Malfoy boy have said to me? I hear ruffles of the grass, indicating that Professor Snape is leaving. I slowly lift my head before saying something to him, not caring if he hears it or not.
"I'm sorry for being a huge disappointment sir, just wait for a few months and I'll be gone.", I whispered.
