Indian Media : A Hot Mess

By definition, 'Media' means various communication tools used to store and deliver information. 'Journalism' means to report and distribute the events.
You may confirm the definition from various sources but nowhere does the defination will have words like 'brainwashing' or 'hatred' or 'judging' or 'misleading'. But it seems that this is the exact thing that the main stream media and journalist do these days, rather all the above words can be used as synonyms for the media.

Journalism existed in order to finish the knowledge deficit in our population, to inform and educate the masses of the events happening around us. It was their duty to scrutinize the government policies , to give ground reality of the situations and to deliver this information without and adulteration to people.

But our mainstream media, our news channels, journalists did nothing like that. Instead of scrutinizing the government, criticizing it's bad policies and pin pointing the faults and failures of the government, most of the journalist are just favoring the administration.
They fail to ask the crucial questions which actually links to the empowerment of the nation but are too busy to form cordial relations with the current government.

And then there are these 9 pm news shows. A total drama in my point of view. I guarantee you, watch these 9 pm shows for a week, either you will become a hater of Muslims or Pakistan or will probably have hypertension.

More than half of these debates are on religion, or on Pakistan's threat to India or accusing the opposition parties. Only 1/4 th of these are actually addressing the real issues like employment, economy, hunger, poverty, education( the least discussed), floods etc. to which we need answers to.

If that's not enough the anchor of these shows are no less than vamps of some daily soap. Firstly they scream so much, like man really did you forgot that there is already a mike on you. Then they scream at other members of the debate as if they are entitled to do so and others are supposed to listen to them.

And the venom they spew is far more dangerous than any snake. After the entire show what decision you reached : nothing, but  oh yes these shows are successfully able to brainwash people into castesism, communalism and hatred.

For the life of me I cannot understand, if conveying information was all that they have to do then who told them to take sides ( be a leftist or rightist), and then impose their own opinions on us, manipulating us just because they have the means to do so.

I am all in for the fact that they have their own opinion and its their constitutional right to express it but being a media personnel you have no right to force your perspective on others. And if someone dissents their viewpoint or disagrees with government policies or vocalizes his own worries then suddenly he is an anti nationalist. I mean what kind of shit is this.

Journalism was NEVER of the government, by the government or for the government. It was always for the people of this nation to give them a bare, raw and naked view of the situation, of what administration is doing and how is this great nation running without adulterating and manipulating any of the info.

If we can't trust the main stream media and these 'reputed' journalist to give us the correct and factual information, then I guess we are doomed to our very 'credible' social media (kindly note the sarcasm).

Now I can name many old and new events which were so wrongly portrayed by media like how an entire educational institute was declared core of terrorism or how a law destroys the very basics of our constitution and democracy but  then these all will be my opinions, not to be imposed on others.

We don't want this kind of journalism.
We are worlds largest democracy and their is no democracy without journalism. Journalism is there to help the oppressed and to report the concealed; not to mislead people.

I know what journalist do is difficult and to uncover truth is not a walk in the park. I also acknowledge their bravery to stand in front of millions and address them but it's a humble request to them to understand the responsibility they hold towards the people of this nation who listens to them.

And to the people it's an advice to think and analyse any news you see before forming any opinion on anyone. In this digital era we have a million sources of information but so does a million sources of fake news and misinformation. As a consumer of this info we should be clever enough to decide what kind of news we buy and digest.

Sooooooo ! How was it, please comment to give your opinion and your thoughts about this topic. I would love to have a stimulating conversation.

Kindly don't get offended, I did not mean to target any particular community or a person but just want to share my side.
