I looked at him through my lashes, a smirk playing on my lips as I bit down on them. "Promise?"
"Mhm."
I know what you guys are thinking - this looks suspicious. Y'all don't trust me - and I get it, you're smart not to, but this interaction is harmless.
Still not trusting me? Well, that's your problem.
As I wrapped my arms around his neck, I granted him an enticing smile. "Good." My voice came out low and soothing.
His eyes darkened and he licked his lips in anticipation as he pushed a strand of hair behind my ear.
I liked him, he knew perfectly that this thing between us was nothing serious - we were just two people living the college life. There was nothing wrong with having a little fun.
Plus, the fact that it came in h-
"Why am I not surprised by this?" I heard a female voice coming from the door.
Millie has got to stop getting in my way.
"Yeah, I'm gonna go." Brody glanced cheekily at me and smothered a laugh. "Later, Jade."
I winked at him before he spun around to face his sister.
"You and I are having a little chat later," Millie berated him.
You'd think he was the younger sibling.
He breezed away towards the door. Right before disappearing he pulled a funny expression in my direction, implying that he was in trouble, which caused me to snigger in amusement.
My grin gradually dissipated when I met Millie's wrathful stare.
"Of course you'd try to get it on with Brody just to piss me off."
"Oh, I don't need to get with brother to piss you off," I assured her.
That's just a happy coincidence.
