Meet Jade Cross, New York City's infamous heartbreaker-better known as the Black Widow.
She plays with guys at her will and, once she's had her fun, leaves them with a broken heart and a red kiss at the corner of their lips-her trademark.

Jade's POV
Brody practically skipped away from us and out of the gallery, whistling some obnoxiously cheerful tune as he went.
Jesse watched him leave before clapping his hands together. "Well, we got ourselves a plan."
I stayed quiet.
My attention was on Millie.
For someone who seemed to wear that sweet smile like a permanent accessory, she was having a surprisingly difficult time keeping it in place. Different emotions flickered through her eyes while she processed everything that had just happened, each one fighting to be the one she eventually let us see.

Football games like these could only go one of two ways.
This one, as it turned out, was going to be difficult to forget for more than one of us.
"I'm serious! I had no idea what he was talking about!"
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at Millie's high-pitched laugh and the seemingly endless amount of energy that came with it.
Jesse, on the other hand, didn't seem to mind. If anything, he looked like he was genuinely enjoying himself.
That was mildly inconvenient.
I hadn't expected someone like him to be so receptive to all that sweetness. Then again, I was still figuring Jesse out, and apparently there were more layers to him than the nervous stuttering and painfully questionable flirting I'd been introduced to.
The stadium was close enough to campus that we'd all agreed to meet at Brown and walk there together, which had sounded perfectly reasonable until I found myself trapped in what felt like the longest group conversation of my life.
"So, Jade..." Tyler began beside me. "What do you study?"
I glanced at him.
The classic so, what do you do?
"Business Studies."
"Cool." He cleared his throat. "How are you liking it?"
"It's okay, I guess."
From beside him, Liz let out a quiet snort.
I gave her a sideways look. She was clearly enjoying watching Tyler struggle to keep the conversation alive considerably more than I was enjoying participating in it.
My attention shifted instead to the hoodie I'd made the terrible decision of wearing. The inside was lined with fur, which had seemed like a good idea when we left the house, but the weather had apparently decided it wasn't ready to commit to winter yet.
