Moods are emotional states that differ from feelings and sentiments, which affect people's personalities. They can be either very intense, while others could be handled in a less specific manner. Moods are easily triggered by an event that can typically change to a positive or a negative setting.
I was happy. I was excited that I had the opportunity to go out with Brian and show him who I indeed was. I liked him. Before I met him, I was a content woman, but I couldn't deny that after our nights' conversations, shared kisses, and first date, I felt happier than how I originally was.
Walking towards the lobby of my complex building, I smiled widely at the sight of one of my favorite people. Carrying some bags of leftover dinner, I walked towards the lobby's front desk.
"Good evening, Ms. Montgomery," Bob greeted with a smile on his face.
"Good evening, Bob. How many times have I told you to call me Lilian? We are friends, and we have known each other for a long time. Stop with the formalities, and please call me Lilian," I replied, smiling. I noticed the slight blush that appeared in his cheeks as he laughed and shook his head. Even though he always agreed to do so, he always ended up calling me Ms. Montgomery. He always said that it was a matter of respect and loyalty to his duties and personality.
"I brought you some creamy parmesan and sun-dried tomato chicken pasta," I said, giving him one of the two bags I was holding in my right hand. His smile grew wider as he thanked me for always being so kind to him.
"I am expecting a visit tonight from a Mr. Brian Haner. He's an especially important friend," I said, blushing. Could not hide it, and it was something that Bob noticed.
"I hope he is as good to you as a gentleman should be."
"He is," I smiled.
"Alright, I will make sure to let him up as soon as he arrives. Have a pleasant night Ms. Montgomery," he rejoiced. "Thank you, Bob. Goodnight!"
After I went up to my apartment, I made sure everything on the table was set for our dinner. I had time to hop in the shower and put jean shorts, sandals, and a simple blouse, which was casual yet comfortable.
When I was opening a bottle of wine, the doorbell of my apartment rang. I knew it was Brian, so excitedly, I walked towards it. I opened the door, and behind stood Brian in all his handsomeness. He wore jeans and a white shirt with the symbol of his band in front. He held a small bouquet of Lilies.
"Hello, beautiful. These are for you," Brian said, smirking. I smiled and grabbed the flowers he gave to me.
"Thank you, they are gorgeous. Come on in while I put them in water," I replied, opening the door wider so he could come inside.
"Nice place," he said from the living room while I was in the kitchen, putting the flowers in an empty vase. Hearing his footsteps close, I filled the jar with water. After I was done, I looked at him and smiled, "Thank you."
"Are you ready to eat?" I asked, walking towards the drawer that contained all my silverware.
"I am starving actually, but come here first," he said, stepping closer to me. I turned around and saw his beautiful brown eyes stare back at my green ones. "Hi," he smiled and blushing I replied, "Hi."
Brian placed each hand on the side of my face and kissed my lips slowly. It did not take long. It was a simple yet overly sweet greeting kiss. I smiled more extensive, and when I was about to continue getting the stuff ready for our dinner, he stopped me gently.
"How about I work my way around your kitchen and serve us the dinner? I can see that it's already pre-heated. You were working all day, let me do this for you," he preached, looking directly into my eyes.
