Please, don't hurt him... Please, please, please don't hurt him; I love him. Just take me instead. I'll do anything. You've made a deal, sweetheart. Allow the boy to go, while the girl is chained and taken to the truck, where they will be driven to headquarters.
-----Back up 1 year-----
I'd been living with my father for a few months when we were attacked by the opposing gang. They threatened to kill everyone, including my father, if I didn't join them, so I did. They needed a natural warrior and killer, and that's exactly what I was. They also realized it would kill my father in the process.
Other than the people at this base, I haven't seen anyone I know in over a year. They've honed my skills as a killer and warrior, and I'm their personal assassin. They chose me because I'm too fast and sly to apprehend, but today is the day they finally decided to take me to the main base and make me a bodyguard for someone.
They're like my new family to me; they can be sweet when they want to, and they keep me safe. They will never be forgiven for what they've done, but I need all the support I can get.
"Lydia, we're leaving in ten minutes," Hunter said. He was my only true friend in the gang and he was close to my age
"Well, I'm just putting my gun away." I slipped my gun into my pocket and lifted my hood over my head. The mask that covered the lower half of my face was the finishing touch, and I was ready to go. Since I was going to be living with the client, I made certain that I had everything I needed.
As he walked out of my place, Hunter said, "Princess, the cars are leaving." My code name is Princess because I appear innocent and nice, but when my victims die, I leave a slash through their bodies. They've conditioned me to be heartless and cold, and there's no turning back for me.
I nodded and walked over to the vans, where Hunter and one of our guys, Carl, were waiting.
_______________________________________________________________________________We arrived at home base an hour later and got out; to say I was surprised would be an understatement, but thanks to my mask, no one could tell. They guided me into a conference room after we entered the highly guarded headquarters. Inside, another girl wearing a mask was waiting for me; unexpectedly, she smiled at me, and I walked over.
"Are you here as a bodyguard as well," she asks too politely for someone in a gang
"Do you have any idea what we're doing while we're here?" I question, but the boss entered before she could conclude.
"Welcome Princess," he says, "and welcome back Bulldog." I nodded as the girl with the nickname Bulldog and I walked into the conference room to take our seats.
" While you're with us your mission is to protect two boys," he says, baffling us. "They are under heavy security, but they aren't allowed to have it all in one location, so that's where you come in."
"And where might that be, "I said with my feet on the table and a bland glare on my face.
"Girls you are going back to High-school," he says smirking
"WHAT" My voice was muffled by my mask, but it was loud, and I and the girl both shouted at about the same time.
"Since these boys aren't permitted to have bodyguards at school and they don't want anything to be suspicious, their parents hired you to protect them when they go out of town on gang-related activities." These boys are the son of my bosses, and therefore the gang's leaders as well.
"When are we gonna meet these boys," Bulldog asks
"They'll be here soon," he says as he stands up and walks away. "These boys live together, so that means you girls will live together as well, so get to know each other for now." And then hes out the door disappearing into the hallways.
"So what's your real name". I wanted to get straight to the point if i'm going to be living with her for god knows how long.
"It's Sailor and you?" she spoke with a warm tone lightening up my stone hard gaze.
"My name is Lydia. Since I was born and raised in this town, we will most likely return to my old high school." I could tell my face was annoyed and cold without even looking at it. Before she could say anything, the door opened and two men from the gang came in, followed by two boys, and I was instantly taken back.
I regained control and relaxed after Sailor realized my tense body and nudged my shoulder. I knew I didn't have to be afraid because I could kill them if I really wanted to, but the past never really does go away.
"Princess, Bulldog, these are the boys you'll be looking over and living with for the rest of the year." But, as the boss pointed out, I already knew these two fairly well.
"This is Theo and this is Colton," the boss said motioning to the boy. But they just looked up at us with straight faces with little to no interest in the entire situation. Eye-rolling sounded extremely appealing to me at that moment.
"Theo you are with Bulldog, and Colton you are with Princess, they will be watching over you," he says to the boys, who just offer one of those nods that makes girls want to throw a stone brick at their heads as they walk by.
"Is this for real? We'll be safe because of some girls."With a roll of his eyes, Theo scoffs but that was enough for me to snap. I took out my pocket knife and approached him quickly. Its like he never changed when I stand in front of him now.
His eyes widened as I glared into his eyes challenging him to speak again.
"Princess, you're not supposed to kill them; you're expected to protect them," the boss says sternly, and I return to Sailor, who was laughing, and I secretly fist-bump her.
As he walks away, the boss says, "Get to know each other, ladies, and please don't kill them while you're living with them." I look over to the boys and you could almost see the concern in their eyes as the boss leaves but they keep a strong demeanor to wipe it off.
Sailor rips her mask off, exposing her face; to say she was attractive would be an understatement, and I could tell both boys had noticed as well. When she approached them, he was staring at her.
"Hell ya I got the hot one" he says with a cocky attitude punching Colton in the arm
"Now, pay close attention. We're going to have some ground rules: first, don't be an asshole, second, don't get into any unnecessary trouble, third, don't go into our rooms, and finally, we're not a piece of meat and we certainly aren't your property, so don't address us like that just because your ego is bigger than your dick." I simply nod along with a hidden smirk nod, but I don't remove my mask just yet because I don't want them to know who I am.
"Well, I haven't even considered making a statement because my bodyguard refuses to remove her damn mask." Colton sighs, whining like the whiny brat he is.
"Why haven't you taken off the mask yet?" Colton comments, as I remain quietly staring at them. I just walk up to him and sock him in the face as if it was a normal thing to do. God I've been wanting t do that for years! I could tell Sailor was surprised, but she just chuckled as I pushed past him and went to the car where all of my belongings were being loaded.
"You Bitch!" he yells. As I climbed onto my motorcycle, which was patiently waiting on the street side. I chuckled because he hasn't come up with a better insult in over three years of him shit- talking me, Its honestly kinda pathetic.
I hopped on my motorcycle as soon as it was unloaded from the van and parked neatly by the curb. I went for a ride, unconcerned about what I have just been forced into. I figured I'd escaped my upbringing, but it seems the universe had other ideas, and they wanted to throw me in headfirst.
But this time I'm ready to take it on.
