I put my hands on the wall to drive myself off, but I quickly remembered that walls don't have abs or wear t-shirts. "Oh for God's sake," I mutter as I raise my eyes to the non-existent wall in front of me.

When I looked up, I saw a very attractive guy. Not as attractive as Colton, but still attractive. Is it true that I just called Colton attractive? That's right, I did it and I should absolutely never do it again. Whatever it was most likely a spur-of-the-moment thought.

"Are you done checking me out?" the guy asked and I just eyed him up and down

"Nah, give me a few more seconds," I say, and his expression reveals that he was taken aback by my quick banter.

"I'm Ashton and you are?" he asks smiling at me and I smile back.

"Lydia nice to meet you, Ashton," I say shaking his hand

"Wanna get a beer, Lydia?" he asks, smiling, and I nod as he walks over to the liquor. One drink won't hurt, and Colton is capable of handling himself in this environment.
-

Let's just say one drink turned into two, and two turned into three, and then I lost track. I was on the dance floor with Ashton, and we were surrounded by people.

As I swayed to the music, my body felt loose and my mind was foggy. We'd been here for at least two hours and I hadn't seen Sailor, Colton, or even Theo.

"You are so hot Lydia," Ashton says as he leans in against my neck

"You're not doing that poorly." I slur against him. I was in a good mood when I noticed something at the bottom of my dress. As I turned around, I noticed Ashton's hand gently raising my skirt.

"Stop it," I say, swatting his hand away as I continue to dance, but he doesn't stop.

"Ashton stop it." I started to push away from him.

"Oh don't be a prude," he says holding me way to close not letting me go.

Flashback

Please stop! I said stop!

don't be such a little prude and let's have a little fun

Get off me Please

Shut up and stop Moving!

As I tried my hardest to push away from him, tears welled up in my eyes, but he was solid, and I was intoxicated, so my body wasn't cooperating with me.

I tried pushing him away one more time, and this time it succeeded, so I looked up to see where I had pushed him, but instead, someone stood in front of me punching Ashton.

"If you touch her again, you'll be unable to walk for a month!" I could hear the person talking, but I couldn't see who it was because my tears were already streaming down my face.

Someone was pulling me through the crowd to the outside before I could move from where I was on my own.

I felt someone staring at me, and their hands came up to my eyes, softly rubbing away the tears. I looked up to see who it was.

"Colton?" I say confused and relieved at the same time.

"Now you're safe... I've got you. But, before I go back in there and kill him with my bare hands, we should probably leave "He says, and I collapse into his arms, tears streaming down my face. I didn't want to be here any longer either, so I simply just nodded against his chest.

"Take me home," I said quietly, and he took my hand in his and led me to the car.

The car journey was both quiet and uncomfortable. He seemed to want to ask me what had happened and why I was crying so much, but he never did. We arrived at our destination. I was so exhausted that I didn't know he had already exited the vehicle.

"Are you tired?" he asked as he walked over to the passenger side of the vehicle and poked his head through the open door. I simply nodded slowly, and he partially opened the car door.

"Come here," he said, motioning for me to stand up, which I did. I staggered a little, but he caught me, and before I knew it, he was picking me up bridal style, making me flinch. But I easily relaxed into his embrace, allowing my tired body to fall limp.

As he walked with me in his arms to my bed, he gave me a look that said, "Let it happen."

When we arrived, he gently placed me on the bed and assisted me in removing my shoes.

"Okay, you should get some rest. If you need me, I'm in my room "Walking towards the door, Colton says. I'm not sure what prompted me to say what I did, but it came out of nowhere.

"Stay with me," I said quietly, and he came to a complete stop and turned around to face me.

"Are you sure?" he questioned, as if to confirm my sanity. He walked to the left side of the bed after I nodded slowly once more. I rolled over to face him because his body had made the bed sink, but I hadn't realized that he was still staring back at me.

"Can you tell me why you're being so sweet to me?" I asked gently, and I saw him sigh. You've been strangely pleasant to me with everything lately, not just now. I think it was three days ago that I had a knife to your throat but yet you're still being nice.

"I told you. I want to show you how much I truly regret what I've done to you. I care about you, and I won't let anything happen to you, even though it doesn't feel like it right now."

I was motionless in my thoughts as I just stared at him. He wasn't the same Colton who had broken my soul and wounded me.

"How did you become an assassin?" he inquires carefully, sweeping a strand of hair from my face to behind my ear. The mere touch of his fingertips sent shivers down my spine.

I thought about it for a bit, thinking of what to say. Nobody has really ever asked me about it directly. Why I do what I do that is.

"They can't do anything to hurt me. I have nothing left to care about, and thats what makes me the ultimate weapon in their games." I said softly, my gaze falling on his. His eyes glowed with surprise, but I could see him mentally brushing off the intrigue.

I could feel the sleepiness taking over as I yawned and sank deeper into the bed.

He brushes any stray hairs out of my face and says, "You need the rest for tomorrow at school." I rolled over onto my side, away from Colton, but didn't stop there.

I reached back and grasped his arm, wrapping it around my slender torso and snuggling into him. He made me feel comfortable right now, which was just what I wanted.

At first, I felt his body stiffen, probably wondering why I was so close to him, but then it relaxed and snuggled closer to me. Right before I fell asleep, I spoke once more.

"Colton?" I whispered

"Ya Lydia," Colton whispered.

"I'll go to Prom with you," I said before the darkness took over my body, and I fell asleep.

-

Waking up with a pounding headache and stomach contents that tasted like acid made me regret everything I had done the day before. But it was the vacant left side of my bed that drew my attention. Last night, I may have been pretty drunk, but my mind was still working, and I knew Colton was here.

I just chalked it up to him leaving as soon as I dozed off. I got ready for school and walked out the door, not noticing anyone else in the house.

I'm sorry for how long it has taken for an update. I wanted to take a short break just to get my thought together. I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
