God sometimes I seriously just want to strangle that arrogant mother fu-
"Hey, how's your day going?" Sailor asks me from across the table I was sitting at.
"Oh just swell," I grumbled as I bit into my cheeseburger more aggressive than necessary.
"That bad already huh."
"Ya Colton is a massive prick, and everybody is staring at me. Like when I used to go here nobody even knew I existed or purposefully acted like I wasn't here. I'm starting to miss that right now," I grumbled.
"I'm pretty sure something happened at this school, but I'm not sure what it is What's your deal with Colton? "She tries to casually ask me but I knew she was more interested than what she was leading on. After what has happened to me, I've realized that being lifeless is what keeps you alive in places like these and with the life I live.
"Nothing we just used to go to school together," I said nonchalantly using my best "It doesn't matter tone of voice.
"hm ok then," she says obviously not trying to pick a fight.
"I'm serious, Sailor." This school was of little relevance to me. I try to forget about my high school days because they were tedious and pointless to me now.
When someone caught my attention, I was about to bite into my cheeseburger once more. Two guys in the back of the cafeteria had their hoods up and were just looking from around lunch room. I followed their gaze and it was fixed on one table.
Any guesses on which table they were dead set on? You are right if you guessed Colton and Theo's table. My instinct told me to defend Colton because the two hooded teens were just watching them.
I've only been on the job for one day and already have to deal with this. Why can't I just eat my dreadful school lunch alone? I might just let them do whatever they want to Colton, but I'm bored, so I might as well help Colton not like die. Even though that sounds extremely appealing at the moment.
"Two teenagers in black hoods, Sailor 12 o'clock. Colton and Theo are the focus." I nudged her while slowly rising from the table to avoid the hooded figures seeing any sudden movements. I wasn't sure if they knew Sailor and I were here to protect them, so I made sure to be stealthy.
"They are visible to me. We need to get the boys out of here as soon as possible "She says she's going to get up with me. We go to the restrooms to put on our masks and hoods so no one can see us, and we each send a text to the boys.
Lydia: Colton I need you and Theo to stealthily leave the cafeteria.
Colton: why?
He was seriously starting to piss me off. Like you can die if you want to but I kinda need you alive Colton
Lydia: Someones here and we need you to either hide or get out. If necessary get under the tables, that's an order!
Colton: you don't tell me what to do
I was about to text back when we heard screams coming from the cafeteria. Sailor and I dashed out and sprinted to the cafeteria.
"GET UNDER THE TABLES RIGHT NOW!" When I scream, everybody looks at Sailor and me and follows our instructions.
I can see Colton and Theo hiding under a table with their mates on the other side of the cafeteria, as the two hooded men stare at Sailor and me. They begin to approach us, and Sailor and I exchange a smile.
The two hooded figures were clearly put off by Sailor and I's small exchange, but that didn't stop them from lunging for us.
"Let the games begin," I said as I charged at the guys.
