"So you're coming to my house after? Or what? Jeez, tell em already, stupid," Katsuki says, arms crossed, his bag slung over one shoulder.
"Obviously!" I grin, fixing my middle school uniform and I get up from my desk and continue to pack up my belongings.
I sneak a glance at Katsuki. He's so adorableee..! He's like a little puppy; I'm so glad to call him my best friend.
He's looking to the side, bag sound around one shoulder and hands shoved in his baggy pockets. His face is flushed pink, like it's hot in the room, thought I don't feel it. He fixes his ash blonde hair and noticed me smiling, staring at his ruby eyes.
"Tch.." he says, turning away.
"What? Something you're not telling me? What's on my face?!" He grumbles, wiping his face with his sleeve. I giggle.
"Nothing! And you know I tell you everything," I say, poking his cheek. His face turns crimson and he swats my finger away, I burst out laughing.
"You are my best friend after all," I say, smiling, shoving the remains of my belongings into my bag.
He furrows his eyebrows, his face returning to its normal colour.
" 'best friend'...okay whatever. Let's just go.." he says sharply, grabbing my bag and singing it over his other shoulder. I beam. That's new, he's never done that before!
"Is there something wrong, Kacchan? Was it something I said?" I ask, picking up pace, trying to match his naturally fast walking speed. I tilt my head to the side, peeking at him. He looks down at me and rolls his eyes, shoving my face.
"It's nothing, round-face. If there was something wrong I'd tell you.." he says. "Just like you said 'you know I tell you everything,' you know I'd tell you anything and everything."
I blink. Huh. Is he okay? He never says these things...
The silence becomes awkward and his face flushed a deep shade of red yet again.
"Or whatever. Tch. It fucking fine. Jeez, let's go..."
I giggle. I stop him and move his jagged, spiky bangs out of place, placing the back of my hand against his forehead.
"What the fuck, Uraraka?!"
"Do you have a fever? Are you sick? Why are you a dung so nice," I tease. He shoves my hand away.
"Shut the fuck up. You won't hear it again. I said it once, so let's go," he grumps, shoving his hands in his pockets yet again.
I laugh. He goes on and on, defending how he 'doesn't really care', but regardless, I smile. I'm happy. I'm happy we're best friends. I'm happy he trusts me. I'm happy that we'll always tell each other everything.* * *
{URARAKA's POV— flash back: the other day}
"Yeah. Uh. Fuck...Cheeks..you wanna..?"
Katsuki fumbles with his words, his face looking incredibly frustrated and..well... flustered.
What's up with him? He never fumbles; he's always so...so certain. I wonder what's-
"U-Uraraka san!"
I notice Katsuki's face freeze up, his eyebrow twitch. I turn my attention to the ever-so-familiar voice, and my face heats up, probably turning the colour of a beet. Oh god...nonono..
"I-I..uh..? Would you like to..d-dance?" Deku asks, his fists balled up to his side, his cheeks turning an adorable shade of pink. My blushing intensifies.
"Oh. U-uh..sure?" I respond, and it's only after that I realize what I've just agreed to. God. Oh crap. Nono....
Mina and my other friends behind me giggle. I give them a warning look and they shoe me into Deku, causing me to clumsily trip on my own two feet, crashing into his solid chest.
I look up at him and we laugh awkwardly, our faces both insanely red. God why meee...!
I'm so concentrated on the floor that I don't even realize that Deku has taken my hands in his and we're swaying slowly to the beat of the slow song, caught up in the moment.
I'm so stiff that I trip on my feet again, crashing into his chest, placing my hands on his chest to avoid our faces clashing into each other.
"S-sorry..." I stutter. "I'm just kinda...I mean...I-I was caught off guard and I..."
He laughs. He laughs a melodic, angelic laugh, making me forget about my nervousness. His laughter causes me to laugh myself, and I cover my mouth, my body shaking as it feels as though our laughter and the music are the only sounds.
"Don't be sorry. I just..." he scratches the back of his neck nervously. "I just wanted to dance with you."
I blush, turning my head away so he doesn't see my ridiculous smile.
I relax my tense shoulders and let him sweep me off my feet, literally. He spins me and dips me and our laughter fills the whole room.
The music gets a little slower and we slow down our pace as well. I sigh a happy sigh, leaning my head against his chest, sliding my arms around his neck.
He rests his chin on my head and I smile to myself, reaching above my head to pat his fluffy hair.
I look up at him to find him staring back at me. My eyes lock with his stunning, emerald colour pair. My gaze travels down, down to his adorable ale freckles...and down to his..lips.
I feel the space between us close in, and just as I slowly close my kids and tilt my head, the music changes. I boot up, surprised.
We laugh nervously, breaking apart. I make my way to my friends, leaving Deku in a rush.
"What happened?" Tsuyu asks, her finger quizzically resting in her bottom lip. I smile, my cheeks flushed as I shake my head.
"It's fine. Where's Mina?" I change the topic awkwardly. They tell me she's upstairs with Kirishima "doing it" and I just roll my eyes. Gosh. She's always been so bold, so open with her feelings. She proclaims then from the highest peeks, unbothered if anyone knows how she feels. So bold. So shining...I wish I could be like that. For the rest of the night, I'm spent laughing and having fun, forgetting about my worries. I wonder how Katsuki's holding up...
"Hey! Ochababeee~!"
I turn my attention to the rather frazzled looking Mina, a smile spreading across my face.
"You look...uh..what happened?" I laugh awkwardly. She grins a big grin, slowly walking towards me, her legs wobbly, then using me as support to stand.
"Kirishima. Kirishima happened," she giggles, her cheeks flushing red. My eyes go wide and suddenly we're diving deep into the intimate topic, giggling like little girls."Say...do you know where Katsuki is?" I ask, once the topic dies down.
"Oh! Yeah!Kirishima just texted me saying Bakugou's staying the night here," she says, fixing her hair. I furrow my eyebrows. Huh? But...but he would've told me. That's weird. I hope nothing happened.
What if something happened? No...if it was something bad he would have told me right away. I shouldn't sweat it.
Even though I think this, I couldn't help but have a weird feeling in my gut; almost instinct.
"Kirishima said he's fine in case you were wondering," Mina adds, as if my facial expression is the keyhole to my very own thoughts. I nod, smiling slightly. Okay. I guess I was overthinking...
"Do you have a way to get home?" My bubbly friend asks, getting up as she checks the time. I look around and noticed people filing out; Tsu with Tokoyami, Yaomo with Todoroki, Jirou and Kaminari already gone. Hm..
"No.." I start to panic, realization hitting me like a wave; Katsuki was supposed to walk me home...
"My parents are picking me up...I can ask them if-"
"I-I can walk you home!"
We hear a voice behind us and turn around to see Deku. My face grows red and Mina nudges me and winks, leaving me behind. Ugh. Darn that girl...
"O-oh...thanks Deku," I smile. We start to walk out Kirishima's house, leaving the deserted mess of a living room behind. I take one glance behind me. I really hope nothing's wrong....How come he didn't tell me he was staying over? How come..
"Uraraka san?"
I blink, turning my attention to the freckles boy. "Sorry," I laugh. "Just lost in thought.
"That's okay..so...where is your house?" He returns my nervous laughter, scratching the back of his head. I blush. I'm so dumb! Ugh here I am again...lost in thought.
As Deku walks me home, I give him directions. We walk in silence for the most part, only each other's company and the bustling wind to keep us busy.
"This is far enough. Thanks," I give him a gentle yet tight smile. Awkward..
I bite my bottom lip awkwardly, adjusting my shirt dress, knees pointed inwards. I turn around to walk to my house when I feel a hand grab me. I halt.
"W-wait.." Deku stutters. I turn around to see him red in the face, looking down.
"What?" I ask. He looks up at me with his big puppy dog eyes.
"I.." he gulps. I feel my heart pounding. What? Huh? My already very rosy cheeks become even rosier as I fiddle with my dress yet again.
He takes a deep breath, closing his eyes and finally composing himself, looking straight into my eyes.
