Willow and Connie had planned a sleepover for the night after their game. Even though they had shed their hockey gear they were still sticky from where the soda got between their padding to their skin.

They both refused to use the nasty public ones when we would just be going to Willows house with a perfectly cleaned shower.

"Ugh! Its like maple syrup" Connie groaned touching her cheek only for her hand to get temporarily stuck.

Willow laughed. "Right I can't wait to take a shower." The two girls walked out of the rink and into the wintery weather. "You can use mine and I'll use my parent's."

"Hello ladies" Willows dad said slowing to a stop in front of them.

She was hoping that the soda wasn't to hard to get out.

Connie was shuffling through Wil's clothes trying to find something to wear since she didn't bring anything other than hockey gear. They were pretty close in height Connie being just a little taller.

When Connie went into her bathroom and started showering Willow went down the hallway with her clothes and towel to her parents bathroom.

She had to wash her hair like a thousand times to get the stickiness out. She couldn't have even imagine how hard it was with Connies hair since hers was longer.

After Wil dried herself off and changed she entered her room to see Connie on her bed braiding her hair.

"My dad told me he made chili earlier so we can just hear it up to eat." Willow was starving and only able to think about food at the moment.

"Yeah i'm fine with that." connie finished her braid and jumped off Wil's bed. "Hopefully it's better than my moms."

"Chili it is."

Willow and Connie were sitting on Wil's bedroom floor talking and eating the last of their dinner.

"Willow?" Connie asked hesitantly.

"Yeah" She said wiping her face with her hand, she had forgotten to grab a napkin.

"It's just I noticed your mom is never here. did she and your dad get a divorce?" Connie was hesitant not wanting to overstep but she was genuinely curious. Willow chuckled. "What?" She asked confused.

"My mom didn't leave she just works a lot" Willow said laughing a little.

"Oh sorry" Connie said looking at her empty bowl.

"Hey, no it's cool. I get it she's, never really around. Sometimes I even think she doesn't exist." Wil said slightly more sad and glum, but quickly snapped out of it. "But we gotta pay bills somehow. But anyway let's talk about more interesting stuff. Like the boys on the team." Connie smiled thankful they wouldn't be stuck in awkward silence.

"Okay, okay. What's your opinion on Charlie?" Connie asked.

"He's cute for sure. He seems nice since he was willing to accept us when Jesse didn't. Not that I really hold that against him."

"Oh don't worry about Jesse he's coming around. Besides he's actually a big softy."

Wil smiled, "What's your opinion on Fulton? I know he's sorta new too" she asked Connie.

"I definitely didn't think he was a sixth grader, but he's been really nice. And he is not dumb and does not have to repeat the sixth grade" Wil laughed immediately after she said that.

"Why would he have to repeat sixth grade?"

Connie waved her hand, "Goldberg mentioned something about it once."

"What about... Guy?" Connie asked. Willow knew she was gonna be asked but she couldn't help but blush. Thankfully Connie didn't notice from her face already have being red from laughing earlier.

"He's kinda cute." Willow set her bowl down wanting to desperately change the subject now.

The two girls continued to ask each other options on people from until they got through all the players on the team.

"What about your crush?" Connie asked her.

Wil stopped and thought. Of course she didn't have to think about who it was, she knew it was Guy she just didn't know if Connie should know.

"Well there is this guy" She paused "but, i want to know who you like first."

"What? that's not fair!" Connie complained.

"I'll tell you i swear just you first." Connie sighed.

"Well you know him, kinda short, plays hockey, blonde." It was obvious who she liked before she even said anything.

"I wonder who?" Connie smiled sheepishly.

"Shut up."

"You can't tell him or anyone else." She said and Wil just nodded.

This can't be good. I mean he would obviously pick her. They've known each other longer.

"Now tell me who that guy is." Connie said taking a handful of doritos out of the bag.

"Oh um, he goes to our school, he's really cute" She wasn't necessarily lying which made it easier for Connie to believe her.

"Well? What's his name?!" Connie was getting impatient.

Wil couldn't think of anything. What was she supposed to say. Tyler. Josh. Benny.

"I uh don't know his name sadly" Wil said.

Connie frowned. "Have you never talked to him?" Wil shook her head.

Talk to what? Air?

"That really sucks." Connie suddenly had an expression equivalent to a lightbulb turning on. "We'll just have to find out next time we're at school."

Great. Now I have to find a pretend crush.
