Summer woke up to the ringing of her laptop indicating a video call.
"Merry Christmas, Summer"Winter screamed over the speaker
"Omg! Winter that's so loud, isn't it like 6am?"Summer replied
"Yeah, yeah it is but then it's Christmas, where's my Nephew and sister?"Winter asked
"Jayson, Spring, Winter is calling"Summer screamed
She heard footsteps meaning they were coming to the room. In the past years,Jayson and Spring have bonded so well, sometimes he even slept in her room and Autumn wasn't really taking it well.
By the time Summer was back on screen, she saw her other siblings.
"Merry Christmas"Winter screamed again
"It's not even Christmas here, it's just 9pm"Autumn announced
"Oh well, you are a student stop complaining"Winter replied her
"Speaking of being a student, how's school?"Summer asked
It's been 2 years since Autumn went back to school, intially they were all scared she would change her mind but she's been doing well, even her results have been amazing.
"School's fine,I met this guy but he's rude"Autumn gave her sisters the gist
"Do you want me to warn him?"Connor spoke for the first time since the call started
They all rolled their eyes at the way Connor's big brother mode got easily activated.
"No, thank you, we are sure he'll come around" Spring replied
"How are you Jayson? We are still doing Thanksgiving together yeah?"Connor asked
"Yes, yes, I can't wait"Jayson answered
"How's school Jayson? I hope no one is bullying you"Winter asked
"You literally ask him that question everytime you call"Autumn said
"No, no one is bullying me, I'm actually a big boy"Jayson replied
"Of course you are"Spring said as she rubbed Jayson's hair
"You better remove your hands from my baby's head"Autumn said
"Honestly though,we are jealous already" Winter added
"Oops, I'm sorry"Spring apologised and laughed.
"Are you guys coming back anytime soon?"Winter asked
"Seriously guys, it's been 2 years already"Autumn said
"You both said only a year, don't forget"Connor chirped in
"Yeah, about that...we don't think we'll be moving back to London, we would just be coming for the holidays"Summer replied them
"We love Nigeria, they have lots of cultures and traditions and I really love it plus I haven't met Mr Eazi yet"Spring answered
"Oh, so it's like a permanent thing?"Autumn asked sadly
"Yes, it's a permanent thing"Summer said
"That's sad, I already imagined next Christmas in Birmingham"Winter answered
"We are sorry guys honestly"Spring apologised.
Winter had changed these past years, she's was way calmer and happier. She had left the Law firm too. She figured she didn't want it anymore, she's been working with Connor in the company, she also volunteers at the Orphanage during the weekend. Winter had become a totally different person, her happiness was so contagious.
"Well, it's not that terrible I've always wanted to come to Nigeria, you know"Connor said
"Yeah, me too"Autumn added
"Well, we could do Christmas in Nigeria instead of Birmingham next year, I think it's such a good plan"Winter suggested
"Yeah, yeah that's a good idea"Connor replied
"Okay, guys as much as I love you all, I do need sleep,as you all know I'm a student"Autumn butted in
"Yeah, yeah, sorry for keeping you up"Spring answered
"Goodnight A"Summer replied
"Goodnight Autumn"Winter and Connor said together
"Night y'all"Autumn replied and ended the call
"Oh well, it's remains us 4 now"Winter said
"Actually make it 3, I'm going to stay with Jayson, we have plans for today"Spring replied
"Oh!plans even the mother knows nothing about. Wow"Summer said looking sad
Jayson turned and kissed her"no mommy, I still love you"Jayson assured Summer
"I love you too honey"Summer replied
as he and Spring left the room.
"He's so cute,I can't wait to have him over for Thanksgiving" Connor spoke
"Well, as long as you are coming to Nigeria to pick him, I have no problem"Summer replied
"Well, I could have him for summer then also Autumn would be around"Winter suggested
"You guys be sharing my son all through the year. But okay, you can have him in summer but you are coming to pick him here"Summer said
"Yes ma, we know that already"Connor answered for them both.
"I'm going ladies, I have to briefly stop at the office this morning, remember you still work for me Winter and i need you at the office"Connor said
"Aye aye captain... I will be at work by 10. We need to get him a girlfriend honestly"Winter said
"Totally agree with you, he seems so lonely"Summer responded
"You guys know I'm still here yeah?"Connor asked
"Do you hear anybody speaking"Summer asked
"Nah, I don't"Winter replied
"Okay, I guess that's my cue to leave. You both should stay safe. I love y'all"Connor said
"We love you too"They both responded and Connor ended the call, leaving just Summer and Winter.
"How are you Winter?"Summer asked
"I've never been so happy in my life. You guys are really the best"Winter replied
"Honestly...it's so nice when there is peace"Summer added
"Yes, I totally agree with you. How come we fought everytime?"Winter asked
"I know right, but it's all in the past now. I'm just glad I have you all"Summer replied
"I stopped using those drugs, Summer"Winter said proudly
"Omg, I'm so proud of you Winter, you are really strong"Summer told her
"It's all because of you Summer, you were with me all the way. Thank you"Winter replied.
Summer remembered the first time she saw the drugs in Winters bag, it was during their stay at her house, she had called Winter to her room and spoke with her, it ended with a fight but now look where they were. She smiled, Winter was changing and she was a happy sister.
"I love you, Winter"Summer said
"I love you, Summie"Winter replied.
They both looked at each other without saying anything, both thinking about how fast these 2 years had gone. None of them would have believed it, if someone told them they would end up as an actual family, things were going well and they hoped for better things for the future. Fingers crossed.
