(CHONG)

I silently cursed my lover for putting me in this position. But I think I should be annoyed at myself as well for saying yes to Lao this morning when he said...

"Guard Dayu today. Stay by his side. Be his bodyguard again. Just for today,"

"Why?" I asked in confusion. "Dayu has an excellent security team. Why do you need me to guard him?"

"Not to guard him but show your support on him. This is lecturing things is something new for Dayu. I think it will mean a lot to him if someone close will be by his side while he is doing this." Lao said.

"Okay...that's cute. Now, give me the real reason why you want to me stick to Dayu," I urged my lover.

Lao sighed, "This is a big deal. This is a live stream with millions of viewers online. If something goes wrong..."

"If Dayu fucked this up..."

"Or worse he gets hurt," Lao gave me a telling gaze. "I don't really care if Dayu messed up, but if he gets hurt..I don't think I can forgive myself because this is my idea. I don't want my Consort to get hurt. You being there for him will give Dayu confidence. He always trusts you..."

I sighed, "Okay...fine."

Lao smiled before bestowing a sweet kiss on my cheek. "Thank you. If Qing is not meeting a European ambassador today, I will skip his event and go with Dayu's instead. But alas, Qing sometimes need me to remind him to be diplomatic. Especially when dealing with overconfident and overzealous European ambassadors."

"I understand. I will take good care of Dayu..."

Take good care of Dayu...bullshit. Dayu is fine. Dayu is doing great in this live stream lesson or whatever that is going on. If ever, the Consort is on his element. He is charming as ever and good at communicating with his audience. Dayu won't earn the title Darling of the Press if he doesn't know how to charm in front of cameras.

If someone is not used to facing a camera and hates eyes ogling at him...that will be me. I had to wear my shades just to hide the irritation I am feeling for having too many female eyes boring at me.

I can say with certainty that I am not that verse in dealing with women paying attention to me. And as a gay man, I am also not sure how to deal with women having interest in me. It's not like I can give back the interest on them. I don't swing that way. I'm into men. Correction, I'm into Lao. Only on him. Whatever.

What I am saying is that I wouldn't know what to do with women's interests in me. It doesn't do anything to me.

But now, I see interested eyes darting my way as Dayu talked about what it feels like to be the spouse of one of the most powerful and important man living today without compromising your own way of living.

"There are two things you need to remember: knowing who you are and time management. Knowing who you is important because there will be times that you would want to separate yourself to your partner's identity. For me, the Consort title comes after being the man's husband. And also because I have a good training under my predecessor. Queen Dowager MeGui had taught me all I know about being the partner of the King," Dayu explained in a kind and engaging tone.

"Second is time management. Because you know who you are, then you know what are the things and relationships that are most important to you. That's where you should focus your time. For me, the most important of course, is my family. My husband and my children. So no matter how busy I am being a Consort for the Royal Family, I know where to put those duties on my time table. They come after I have spent time and shower my family with attention and love," Dayu added the second part.
