Chapter 10 | I Saw His Face
Pauline Cynthia Zunino's Point of View
The house felt empty again. Xavier, Hera and Sara's absence made the house sadder and quieter.
Ugh, now I want to go back to Bleanriths again.
I sighed. I pouted and Cyran flicked me in the forehead, making me frown.
"Let's go," aniya at binuksan na ang pintuan.
It's not like it's a date. It's work-related... kind of?
Should I ask him to save a seat for Warner and I later? Wouldn't it be too awkward? But still, ayoko na kasing kaming dalawa lang uli ni Warner ang kakain, I'm having this nervous feeling...
I sighed.
"Then, don't."
"Ha?" Napalingon ako kay Cyran.
"Don't eat with him if you feel awkward, it's not your job to be with him every time."
"You're inside my head again, aren't you?" I frowned. "I don't know. Ayoko naman siya iwan kasi naaawa ako sakanya, it's lonely to eat alone, you know?" I whined.
"Okay, and then go and eat with him."
"But I don't want to, it's awkward." I pouted.
Cyran hove a deep breath and flicked his fingers on my forehead. "You are so complicated." He said, shaking his head in disbelief.
"You love me anyway."
I breathed deeply as I walk cautiously with head held high. Baka mamaya bigla na lang may bumato sa'kin ng dragon poo dito or something—not that humans have a dragon.
"Good morning, Mr. Warner." I uttered my usual greet as I saw him sitting on his swivel chair, sleeves rolled up, his eyeglass already in place, while he's deep into his work.
"Good morning," he greeted back without looking; umirap ako bago naiinis na pumunta sa desk ko.
He did not even look at me. Ugh, whatever, what a rude boss! Sa susunod talaga hindi ko na siya babatiin... well, just kidding, baka mamaya tambakan na naman niya ako ng trabaho.
Hindi ako mapakali habang nagtratrabaho; I was thinking about the upcoming lunch.
I don't want to eat with him at the canteen but I don't want to be alone with him, either.
Gaaaah! This is so frustrating!
"It's lunch."
