Chapter 31 | Still Ache
Pauline Cynthia Zunino’s Point of View
“What happened?”
“Bakit nagpasundo ka kaagad?”
“Where’s Warner?”
“Pau, why aren’t you talking? What the hell happened?”
“Pau.” “Pau, focus on me, look at me.” My tired eyes went up and looked at Cyran; knowing what he’s about to do.
The heavy feeling on my chest was too much and the pain is coming back stronger than before, stronger than when I faced my father…
My body crashed with Cyran’s when he pulled me closer. I felt his lips on the top of my head as I grip on him tightly, as if asking him to save me from this feeling.
I’m tired…
I’m so tired…
I want my Mom. I need my Mom.
I should’ve known better… I should’ve never started what was going on with me and Warner. I shouldn’t have done this! I wouldn’t know.
I wouldn’t know that my shitty of a father is the one who adopted some abused child while he threw away his own daughter like a trash.
I hate him—no—I loathe him.
I hate both of them.
I can’t…
“Sara, get a blanket. Hera, can you please get her a water?” I heard Cy said.
“On it.”
“Pau, look at me, please, focus on me.”
I can feel my heart breaking, so bad. Sobrang hapdi ng sakit sa dibdib ko to the point na hindi ko na alam kung paano ako magiging maayos ulit.
Warner… he knew that I don’t want to meet my hell of a father, he knew! And he still betrayed me! He’s a horrible piece of shit! How dare he…
I trusted him. I shitty trusted him! I trusted a human and this is what happened! Maling-mali ang pagkatiwalaan ang mga taong ‘to… Maling-mali! I fucking loathe all of them! Mga walang kwenta!
“Pau, you are creating an earthquake, calm down!” I heard some crashing and breaking of glasses somewhere in the house.
I saw him wipe the tears in my cheeks. Nakita ko sa gilid ko si Raine, Mang Nel at sila Sara na nakatayo sa gilid; worry was plastered all over their face as they both held unto each other.
He stared directly at my eyes and I felt his finger at the side of my head.
“Sleep,” he whispered, and that was the last thing I remember.
The next day, I woke up in the living room with my things packed already.
“You’re awake.” Hera gave me a soft smile and gave me a glass of water.
“Thanks,” I simply said before accepting the glass and took a sip.
