Chapter 7 | I Believe Him
Mahirap kasi talaga kung magkakalayo tapos walang communication," Mang Nel stated while driving.
Because I came home late last night, Cyran tattled to Raine and of course, Raine ended up coming back again to check on me because I'm a "trouble-maker brat who can't sit still on Earth" because I, apparently, "hate it."
Her words, not mine. And honestly, she's not wrong about that.
"Really? I have faint memories of a phone; baka hindi na 'ko marunong gumamit." Phones are so old-fashioned.
Seriously, Earth should upgrade their techs and DNA if they have time. It also showed their upgrades and improvements.
I sighed.
I miss Bleanriths so much.
"Reminiscing again, huh?" I heard Cyran whisper.
I glared at him. "Taking a peek on my head again, huh?"
He shrugged. "I can't help it."
Even if he doesn't say it or even if I'm not a telepathic like him, I know he misses our home, too.
Now I wonder what are they up to now. I wish I could see them again just to check if they're alright and the humans are treating them nicely.
But today was quite exceptional because I did not hear any single insult directed towards me.
They kept quiet, as Warner had said yesterday.
"I saw the improvements already," I announced when I saw Warner on his usual chair, coffee is placed by his right side.
I felt giddy and euphoric.
Those pathetic humans are finally starting to treat me right. Still, this is nice.
Warner slowly smiled while my eyes automatically drifted to his dimples and perfect eyebrows. I felt my heart thump loudly but I guess that's just because of the 'no-more-gossiping about me' idea that was playing on my head.
"We should celebrate, then." Sumandal siya sa upuan at tinitigan ako. It made me uncomfortable so I looked away.
"Does this celebration include not working for today?" tanong ko at pumunta na sa table.
"What are these?"
"No, the celebration includes a lunch with me at an expensive restaurant with an expensive bottle of wine," he answered. "Those are my records in the company. I already gave you my orders yesterday, and I don't want to repeat it again."
"Ayoko na lang pala mag-celebrate." I groaned when I opened the box.
"You're going to have lunch with me, either way." I was lost in his dimples.
